thanks it really helped, I’m excited. I was finally able to make a cast-iron skillet and you explained it so well, there’s some people on KZbin they really don’t explain it. They show you how to do it so quick they don’t even tell you where to get the material from, sometime what type of material, I guess these are people that showing you their talents they’re not really trying to teach you anything that they’re showing you their skills, but thank you for actually doing it step-by-step I was able to follow along, and in my goodness, it really did help so , I made too thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!! you’re an excellent teacher! And unselfish! Kudos to you.😘👩🏾🦲🥰

Hi! Can you recommend any chalk brands? I've been searching for them but can only find pastel chalks and from what I read it is not the same.
@joannesminisАй бұрын
The set I use the most are just the store brand from Michaels. I'm not sure where you are located but most of the big box craft stores in the US have their own brands of these. One of mine is labeled as "soft pastels"

Joanne. I did an entire interior Tudor dollhouse walls with dry wall compound and made everything in it from the 1970s. I thought that wallpaper would take away from the furniture. Over the last 3 years I have changed my mind and sanded all the dry wall compound off the walls (yeah it took about that long) and redo the walls with wall paper. My point. Lol. Wish I would have seen this technique before the drywall compound. It looks so much better and I wouldn't have taken it all off I don't think.

Sorry was there a part one,what is it?? I didn't hear an introduction...and what is it for??

This is the first side of this cube, so part 1 of this one. The tutorial for making the cube should be linked at the end. I talk more about the cubes both over there and on today's blog. Basically I use the cubes as a place to demonstrate different architectural techniques. They can also be used for inspiration or just be decorative.

I think I'm going to cry. I didn't realize that when you print out the "new instructions" from RGT website, there's a disclaimer to fix the printer guides. So I put together the railings all wrong. I don't see that they sell these railings separately. I don't know what to do now...
@joannesminis2 ай бұрын
I am so sorry I've made that type of mistake also. Have you tried contacting RGT via email and asked for advice. I think that's where I would start. If they can't help you could recreate the railings from strip wood.

Ugh, I made the mistake of shaking the poly for the floors and now I have tons of dried bubbles. Do you think I should re-sand it?
@joannesminis2 ай бұрын
That's what I do, start in an area that won't show too much. Also do a final sanding with either a 400 grit wet paper or a piece of a paper grocery bag.

I used Legos yesterday to make a routing sled for my Dremel rotary cutter. I made a perfect flattening shaving fitting of my old helicopter drone propeller blade root that could't fit into the newer releases of drone parts made by newer manufacturers. It's magic when precision is built into toys. Now I search for like minded people to use Legos. Not too many out there as resourceful as us.

I haven't tried it for this. I would suggest do a small sample with the glue and see how it works.

Hi. I'm building a large dollhouse--a large miniature :)--with foamboard, and I chose to use the black because it's matte. For a while, I couldn't decide between that and basswood, but then I saw that the basswood pieces at the store were already warped. I heard that there is an issue with foamcore warping when you paint it or apply moisture, as in glue or paper mache. Another video said to paint both sides of the foamcore, and it flattens back out. I know this isn't always practical to do, and I was wondering if you knew how to prevent warping when working with large pieces of foamcore that will be glued or painted. Thank you!

How did you avoid. fraying when you cut it to length?
@joannesminis4 ай бұрын
If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I filmed this video) this ribbon didn't fray very much and since it wouldn't be handled it wasn't an issue. If you use a ribbon that frays badly use a very thin line if either Fray Check ( available in fabric stores) or a thin line of a glue or clear nail polish.
@bonnieharris45384 ай бұрын
@joannesminis I was contemplating actually cutting a carpet, that's very big (well, all things being relative) into stair runner shape.
