In 1991 I was 22 in the Navy and my first purchased handgun was a blued M43, I kept it for a year and traded it for another gun, I regreted it later on, owned various STAR models after that, last year I purchased another on GB with roughly 300 rounds through it with case and manuals, I forgot how much I liked it.

I put the Guardian Six on mine

I milled my slide for RMRcc because Forward Controls plate worked great, but wouldn't cowitness with the suppressor height sights I had. If you get suppressor height sights, be careful and measure the height of the optic first to be sure you get sights that are tall enough. The proper height needed for them to cowitness with the adapter plate is ridiculous looking though. I just put the RCR on my glock 19 mos and used the FC adapter plate and i have to uet again buy taller suppressor height sights. I'm not milling the g19 mos slode like i did for the 43x mos. Just a little bit of my experience so it hopefully helps you if you decide to get suppressor height sights to cowitness, and I highly suggest you do so.

I carry a 43x mos as well with the shield arms mag and speer gold dot 124 grain with the same light and antimatter wing and holosun 407k x2

I have both and love both. I agree that the 47 has a tad less felt recoil. I’m fortunate enough to have both and will keep both. I did get the 45 first, and just decided I wanted the 47 as well. Can’t go wrong with either one.

what holster do you use for your 43x.

The training I had recommend you always rack the slide all the way back to release a slide so you get the full force of the spring loading and engaging the gun, whatever pistol it may be to ensure it chambers properly. Using the slide release only may work most of the time on most guns but there is a chance it may not on a different gun. So that’s why some people rack the slide to load every time. I didn’t realize it wasn’t the manly thing to do but that is the reasoning.

Just a disgrace that Glock doesn't offer OEM extended mags. The 3rd party mags are not reliable enough

Bare bones is what you want your carry gun to be. Dot, light, sights and maybe some grip and Glock factory mag extensions 👍🏼

@meaty556 I may have missed it and, if so, I didn’t want to rewatch the whole video to be factual; however, did you have any reason not wanting to have it milled for that optic? Not sure if it was due to cost or being hesitant on structural integrity of the firearm, but I was curious if you contemplated it. I saw someone who ran identical optic on 43x MOS and loved it after it was milled because it was super snug and allowed co-witness with upgraded irons. Thanks.

This makes feel a lot better I'm 17 turning 18 in July a shoot this gun couple times at the range it felt really solid in my opinion and i asked my dad to give it to me when i turn 18 and he promised it to me i already took it apart and gave it a deep clean and useed a nice lubricant thank you for the info and background on the gun🫡
