Hello! Sorry for asking, they really allow transit passengers to go out of the airport now, or did you have to get special documents for it? Thank you! I have a layover in December and I really want to go outside even just for a few hours.

Yes! For qualified people (from qualified countries) that they allow entry without a visa, you would have to go here … www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do …to obtain a QR code that you would show at the transfer lounge along with your passport. They then give you a stamp and direct you to the covid screening area in which you would fill out a questionnaire. Then after that you are directed to customs in which you fill out another questionnaire. It’s a very long process and when we went we were fortunate enough to go the day they opened up to tourists without prior covid testing. Hopefully by December it changes again so it’s easier, but so far as I know that’s the only requirements. Good luck and have fun!

Yes we had to do that before boarding. They won’t allow you to enter without it. You would go to the transfer lounge to show the code to get a transfer stamp. Then they direct you to a covid questionnaire clearance which then takes you through security and then through customs. All in all it took a little over an hour to do all of it before entering into the city. So not much time to do any real sight seeing. 😔

Thanks for your video. You have an adorable family.😊 Did you have to complete the K-ETA or sign up for the health QR code to get through immigration? You are the only video I've seen that has left the Incheon Airport on a layover.
