"That's my mom in this trio. I wish I had a copy of a song they did called Alabama 2" Reply GereDJ "Funny Little Game", One of my fave tunes forever. Would like to learn more about your mom with the Vogues and songs recording and arrangement, etc. see commet below posted to another vid of this song: Vocal trio from the late 50s is correct. Released July 14, 1958. I have the original 45 and played it many times on my Oldies AM and FM shows. I can't get over how much better this digital audio sounds from my scratchy, 45, vinyl analogue record. Really interesting vocal arrangement with the above C vibrato. She is actually a classically trained singer, now doing Real Restate in Palm Springs last I heard. I wonder if she, they, ever reminisce about what a great time it was then and this great tune? I play this camping at the beach sometimes. I played this on local L.A. radio. Sadly, it never made it to Billboard's Top 40....but should have.

This was a summer hit in 1961…Pat’s follow up to his #1 song “Moody River” earlier that year. This record was played and danced to on Bandstand.

This came right before “Take GoodCare of Her” and “The Writing On the Wall”. Great song, and often forgotten.

Had not heard this version of this song in a long time. When I did, it brought me back to a moment one night a few days before leaving for boot. It was September 1969. I was 19 & dating a beautiful young girl at the time. Both of us hearing this song that night was very emotional for both of us.

Frankie Lyman was such a spectacularly🎇 brilliant Tenor!🗣🎶 He paved the way and influenced many subsequent greats i.e. Michael Jackson and others! There's no telling how many more beautiful songs🗣🎶 he would have left for us to enjoy, if it weren't for his passing at such a young age!

I've always felt that the Jo Stafford cover was the best version. The 5 Satins, a close 2nd. Just beautiful harmonies to Freddie Paris' lead vocals. Got to see the group in a Boston night-club about 50 years ago. And more recently, was happy to see Martin Scorcese use the all-time great "In the Still of the Night" in The Irishman.

Hilarious when you think the ones delivering this message were racing around in thier high performance cars, sleeping with prostitutes, groupies, getting drunk, popping pills and barking orders at thier flunkies.

Very Sad to lose a Great Voice, Great Actor (Sandford and Son) RIP.
