It was really a wonderful hike!! Such a great view and greenery at Seven Lakes Basin Loop in Olympic National Park. The hike to Olympic National Forest was very beautiful, and the view was just fantastic!!

How many hours did it take to reach camp?

The whole Swanton program was really good that season many years ago. The players made the program much better. Give credit it's due as there was some good coaches as well. Those same coaches didn't fair the same after the students moved on. I was a Senior that year, of that campaign, we featured a 9-1 record and only loss to a then Archibold team in triple overtime. That team went on to win state. Few teams qualified for playoffs back then. Many of those same students went on to coach later in life. This freshmen group was under that group and continued that tradition the following 90 football season and into 91. Swanton was a power house for those three seasons. There were quite a few players that went on to play in various forms from division 1 college programs, division 2 college programs, and semi pro football in there lives. Great video, and great music from the old school rock and past. Hansbarger R.I.P.

How long of a hike was this from the trailhead? Was it a popular place?

The unbelievable part is that you did that with the technology available at the time. Knowing the two guys that coached and having graduated with one of them, it's safe to safe that the success was a result of the coaching. Go Dogs!
