You have an electric heater in that garage too right? How do you find the electric heater versus the diesel one?

How’s the heater working? How quick does it heat up the garage? Is it a personal heater or does it heat the whole garage? I’m considering a heat pump for my garage. I bought 2 small electrical heaters from Crappy but they are basically a personal heater. My garage is insulated but is too chilly to work in and it hasn’t even dipped below zero yet.
@JohnsVanAdventures
@JohnsVanAdventures 27 күн бұрын
Yeah it’s great - heats the whole 16’x24’ garage toasty warm no problem at all. A heat pump would be great as well… no question. Maybe better as you could set it and forget it. The diesel heater needs refuelling.
@theradiation7420
@theradiation7420 27 күн бұрын
@a heat pump is 4600. I have had no use for cooling or heating up until this point. This 120 $ heater might work good enough for Jan-March. Do you just run it while you’re in there? How much fuel does it use per hour?
@JohnsVanAdventures
@JohnsVanAdventures 27 күн бұрын
@@theradiation7420It’s definitely cost effective! I just got it running so I don’t have a lot of info, but there’s plenty of info online… they’re getting super popular. Some folks use a large fuel tank that lasts a very long time… I ran it for a few hours yesterday while I was in the house, with a wifi security camera watching it so I could check that everything was ok and to see the temperature and it all worked flawlessly. Today I cranked it to the max to see that the exhaust would be fine with the cut-through where it goes outside (it was). I’m pretty impressed! Check Amazon for different model, and KZbin for reviews. Cheers!

Maybe try a few of those large dehumidifying bags they make for cars and work vans? You can dry them out in the microwave and reuse and they definitely help.

@@justme6767 Very slowly for the past three weeks. I had some surgery so I wasn’t running at peak efficiency… and poor Heather is just going downhill and I’l been struggle with and trying to come to terms with setting the wheels in motion to have her placed in Long term Care, which as you can imagine is a real emotional rollercoaster. However, I worked on my rear view camera yesterday and I’ll finish that off today and start something else. Maybe just organizing my workshop, but I consider that part of the van building process. Not sure where that moisture is coming from. We use a dehumidifier in our Class A when camping in colder temps…not great but it does help. But that moisture is coming from breath, cooking, showers etc…hmmm…
