Great explanation, buddy. One quick question. If you go for a pot, stop the cue ball and miss the pot. Is this a standard foul in both rule sets?

if you mean "nothing touches a cushion after the initial contact" then yes, that's a foul in both rule sets.

2nd attempt. 1st attempt I landed wrong side of black and couldn’t stop white from hitting the cushion 🙈
