Does the lunar tables mean anything in fishing? I have seen it accompany my fishing license for years.
@FishfulThinker11 күн бұрын
I believe in the lunar tables for all of my fishing and hunting, at least at the macro level. What I mean is I don't necessarily follow peak feeding times daily per se (I think they're more affected by weather etc) but I do plan all my fishing and hunting trips around good lunar periods, typically full, new and half moons. A whole bunch of nature's breeding and migration cycles revolve around the moon's pull.

Targeting white bass is easy in summer it's actually one of the best time to target for them fish you have a boat especially on shore fishing a little harder but if your lucky you'll get a big school coming in early in the morning or in the evening

I have a cabin in Walden and fish the Buttes plenty. A little slower on the rig description would help. GLAD YOUR BACK!

What specific info would you like? Rod/reel/line type stuff? I'll bust out a quick follow up Short for you.
@Jemmcanna19 күн бұрын
@ In re-listening to this you did OK, I picked it up. I’ve asked you before to be really specific about what bait, lure, line and rig you use on various fish. No complaints. I understood. Maybe I was listening too fast huh? Good to see you back, take care, my friend.

This reminds me how drummers hold their sticks. It looks like they are hitting with 100% strenght and grip, but all those sticks are bearly held in hand in order to produce the loudest resonating sound(which itself can translate to sensitivity which is vibration(wavelenghts) after all).
@FishfulThinker19 күн бұрын
Yes for sure! Let that rod, drumstick, golf club, cue stick, whatever dance and vibrate!

I've really been struggling at Horsetooth this year so the power switch just might be the thing for 2025. That and I'm going to get a pedal kayak that should up my chance exponentially. What 4 or 5 colors would you suggest starting with? Great video as usual.
@FishfulThinker19 күн бұрын
Mobility will help a lot for sure, even if it's just barely off the bank. For colors I like the Silver Bullet, HD Blacknose Shiner, HD Yellow Perch, and HD Pink Wizard...but all the colors on the ample pallet are pretty solid so pick ones that you have confidence in. Focus on lure control...deep and slack line management.

Thank you for this. I’ve been having trouble catching them for years. Finally someone teaching something new, and you make it seem so easy. Can’t wait to try it this Sunday.

I just bought a couple of these the other day, very timely podcast! Thanks for the great info on how to use this, since it is a bit of a different lure than most out there.

Do you leave the hook poking out? Or do you cover it,?
@FishfulThinkerАй бұрын
Either works fine but I leave the point exposed.
@Blue-5878Ай бұрын
What style of hook do you recommend thank you i usually use a salmon egg. And is the hook at the bottom of the spoon? Or that's just a wad of bait? Thank you

I like to pinch barbs on my trebles to make it easier to release the fish quickly and without damage. Also easier to remove from your rubber net or if someone gets hooked. Do you have a preference between red, black, or chrome hook color for certain scenarios or species? Thanks

This is a good way Berkley wanted to find to get people to waist the bait more and faster making you have to buy more. 😂
@timoromeo7663Ай бұрын
You could definately shoot more line if it weren't wrapped around the tip of the rod.

works fine on windy days...we simply trail the Powerbait 12-18" behind a spoon.
@FishStalker7772 ай бұрын
Do you replace hard baits if they lose some of their paint? I had some Berkley lures lose quite a bit of paint from toothy fish. Do you ever use clearcoat or something else to preemptively protect paint that isn’t durable?
@FishfulThinker2 ай бұрын
I don't do anythging to protect the finish on Berkley baits. If the color gets eaten off, I just keep fishing them. Some of my all-time favorite specific hardbaits have all the paint off of them...and still smash fish. Ation trumops color. One of the advantages of plastic over balsa baits is that the finish is purely cosmetic on plastic while on balsa it keeps water out.

Very cool! I grew up fishing the ocean under bridges Or right of the cost. Always used live bait shrimp squid . But now I live in Kentucky no ocean but plenty of lakes and rivers but I don't have a clue where to start 😅 but this is awesome 💯❤️

Bombarda 5-20grams on the top for weight, floating is the most used, powerbait of "duckfoot" and you are good to go for longer distances. BUT, you should reel in pretty slow, the powerbait will still spin.
@raiderswish2 ай бұрын
But generally you dont use big hooks for trout when power bait fiahing. But i see you wanna use a larger hook for bone and size or lure

The DNR Needs to stock fish in different sizes so some that have eggs should drop them in the lake or better put them in a river up stream from a lake!

Love topwater fishing for Bass. Have yet to try it on Trout as I catch them more burning an inline spinner or twitching a jerkbait. I feel like my topwater lures are too big and explosive for them though lol especially in river currents.
