I like what he says, but I'm never buying an Apple product. Apple is very anti consumer and overcharges on their stuff just because of their name. In my life I had one apple product, an Ipod Video like 16 years ago. I didn't buy it, it was a gift someone got me. I have never and will never pay for an apple product.

I worked for a startup like this, and it was actually difficult for me at first because like many people I came from a hierarchical employment background. But once I found my groove, my growth accelerated rapidly and I contributed in ways I never would have imagined were possible for me. It was an incredible time. Then we were acquired, and then we were folded into a larger corporate structure, and to say the way things were ran after that was stifling doesn’t even begin to paint the picture. Many of my colleagues left well before things got bad but I wanted to see for myself and I’m glad I did because it taught me so much about how not to run a business and what to look out for and avoid with future employment prospects. It’s sad and shocking that so much of how businesses continue to be run today is rooted in ego rather than what’s actually going to grow and improve the business.

According to what I learned about Steve Jobs, most of this is BS. He was a great man, but losing an argument or listening to the ideas of others were not his strong sides.

Steve Jobs nailed it with his point on teamwork and not micromanaging. In my experience as a commercial real estate broker, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is to build a team dynamic based on mutual trust. I always tell my young agents, 'I’m here to guide, not to control.' If they don’t feel like I’m breathing down their necks, they take ownership of their projects and bring their best selves to the table. Jobs was right-when you trust your people, the innovation and drive come naturally. That’s how you grow as a team.

In most organizations leadership doesn't have the skillset to assess ideas, they're just there to grift off the work of professionals. Hierarchy is an idiot-proof but ineffective way for these people who don't understand the work to still make decisions.

There is no way Apple is a startup come on :D At the start-up stage almost anyone can join the company, but he has to prove that he contributes a lot. However Apple has one of the most demanding and challenging recruitment process in the World. It will take you YEARS to get there. This is not a start up

A corporation is not much different from a government, and just like in a government, the people in power have no understanding of the needs of ordinary citizens. And all of this for money…

I think it was his narcissism that caused his cancer. So be like Jobs yes, but be sure to be good and kind as you go along. It’s the small and the subtle gestures. I have no doubt that Jobs knew that it was his evil ways that killed him. And no doubt that he regretted not making a better effort.
2:16 yeah, what is the point of hiring great people if the only thing you want is to tell them your side of the story. You hire them because you want their contribution…! Otherwise you are stuck in 1930s Henry Ford assembly line… We have passed that, the 1954 US Navy team dynamics, and believe it or not, the 1962 Swedish Air Force… Welcome to the 21st century folks

Corporate structuring pushes new ideas out because they're too risky or wouldn't make it to market. Those new ideas end up being your future competitor & corporate will be forced to adopt the idea to stay relevant.

Absolute rubbish. This man cheated the very engineers at the beginning of the company who made him successful. What did he do in return? Cheated them out of their stock. And he talks about people, team work, etc?!? Amazing how success makes people forget the evils of one’s life, whitewash their past, and legitimize mean human behavior.
