I did this song at my school this year and I did mallets, it was so fun and I was really happy to do it because it really made a difference in how the band sounds, especially because there are parts in the song where there’s no one playing and that’s where the bells would come in. But overall this sounds amazing!

It gives me great joy to listen to this talented group of young musicians perform my composition "Danzas Latinoamericanas". Thank you maestro Ellefsen and many thanks to everyone in the orchestra!

A gallant effort! Work harder on coordinating intonation and on using baroque ornamentation, especially sustained trills (most of all on pedal tones), plus key group articulations of key motifs and phrases. You're close, and getting closer. Find a good director with experience in fine-tuning intonation, articulation and ornamentation. You'll be amazed at what a relatively small amount of group ear-training can do to clean up and amplify your group sounds!

I was looking for the version of this piece that I played with my string ensemble in high school, and I am SO happy to have found this. This was an absolute blast to play at my school, and probably the most fun piece I've played. It's so quirky and unique. Well done to you all and thanks for having a wonderful performance of a piece that brings back so many memories!

Unfortunately, we only have two percussionists in this class. The set player is from a different class, and fortunately, we were able to borrow him for a few rehearsals before the concert.
