No, it is no longer in use and is for sale. Because of dwindling membership, it ceased operating in the summer of 2024.

A Beautiful home indeed! One of the outbuildings looked as if it may have been built as slave quarters? Love to know what the property sold for at auction! I must say I am equally impressed by the video itself! The drone shots and interior and exterior footage coupled with the musical score is a work of art in itself. I'll have to research this one ... Thanks !

I don't know if the outbuilding was a slave quarter but I suppose it is entirely possible. Thanks for your kind comments!

You are off by 100 years on the age of the house. That house has lots of Greek Revival elements. Greek revival architecture was popular in the 1820s when America was comparing itself to ancient Greece because of democracy. The wooden vertical trim on the corner of the house is wide to look like columns. The formality of the front doorway is a giveaway that the house is Greek Revival. Houses from 1939 were mostly Craftsman in style. In any event, I hope someone does something period approprate with it.
@RobByronPiedmontPhoto2 ай бұрын
Actually, I'm pretty certain it was built in 1939.
@robertwoodpa6463Ай бұрын
@@RobByronPiedmontPhoto IF so, it was built with old parts. That front doorway is 1820 for sure and the old windows are probably about the same age. I will agree that the hip roof is not a Greek Revival style.
@RobByronPiedmontPhotoАй бұрын
@@robertwoodpa6463 Acording to old county records, there was a field there prior to 1939. Then, in 1939, the house was built. I sincerely doubt that the house was built with old parts.

@robertwoodpa6463. Hello. I have to say that l agree with your opinion regarding the dating of this house. I’ve been fascinated by old homes from early childhood. The door of this house was a dead giveaway for starters, and as you’ve stated, the Greek influence. I live in a stone house, circa 1845. My insurance co. states that my house is brick, circa 1901. I am going to see an insurance broker who just did my car insurance, to make sure I’m properly covered! I have followed a couple of house explorers over the past few years. One tours mansions and castles in Europe. Often the structures are early and full of exquisite furniture. The young man doing the narration is charming and respectful but not knowledgeable, unfortunately. I also follow a person who explores American homes, some very early and fascinating. This person has a true appreciation for the old homes he tours, as well as the property and the views. Unfortunately, his knowledge base is minimal. I don’t understand why these individuals don’t do any research or reading. I find it painful at times. I live in Ontario, Canada and abandoned house are few and far between, nothing compared to the States or Europe. I’ve had my say. Cheers!

In all likelihood the porch was added in the 1880's. The front would have had a stoop with boot scrapers. The central hall would have been where people would get out of their coats and such.
