How old are you and when you started transition?
@StephKyriacou85 ай бұрын
@@Frankiewillbehere I’m 30, I came out as a trans man when I was 22 and started testosterone around a year after that 😊
@Frankiewillbehere5 ай бұрын
Thanks Steph. I turned 36 last week and still waiting to start testosterone and physically transition, and it's hard to know how old others are and what could indicate what I might expect to gain from it. Trying not to feel too sad about the missed trans youth and young adulthood. You look really happy and well. Glad for your transition and how it's made you feel. ❤

As a trans woman, I find it incredibly rude if someone asks me my pronouns when I am clearly presenting female. It makes me feel extremely dysphoric, like they are saying "you don't look enough like a woman for me to call you she." I don't like it and I think it's incredibly rude. Unless someone is very obviously trying to be perceived as androgynous then I think you shouldn't ask what their pronouns are.

I know I’m a little late but how long do u have your kt tape on before switching the tape and can u shower with it? I’m figuring on starting to use tape since it’s cheaper and I just feel like it would work since I’m not that big chested (I don’t have a binder yet) so I just wanna get all the research abkut the tape before I buy it :)
@StephKyriacou83 жыл бұрын
I actually don't recommend using KT tape anymore, it's not the safest method in the world and can have some long-lasting side effects that could affect top surgery results in the future. So please try to avoid using it if you can!

Another way of asking is "How should I introduce you to my friends? ya know, name, pronouns, favourite fact about yourself?" And then when you do introduce them to your friends make sure to use both their name and pronouns so your friend also knows. e.g. "This is Megan, she is also a student here and she is into rock climbing. And this is my friend..."
@SarahScratches4 жыл бұрын
I am way to shy to do this IRL though. I get too nervous in social situations to talk to anyone, but I think a lot about what I would do, so if anyone tries this and it works let me know. 😅

I think that something that makes asking pronouns feel weird, at least to me. Is basically that you're asking how to talk about the person you're talking to as that's when you would use pronouns. So you're asking, hey if I want to talk about you what do I say?
@StephKyriacou84 жыл бұрын
Well, yeah, pretty much. But it shouldn't be perceived in a negative way - it's more like: "I want to know how to address this person in case I need to ask a friend what their Instagram name is, or in case they forget their coat, etc." It's not intended to be offensive, simply a precaution for future conversations :)
