Love the Dock Boggs style here. Awesome sound from your banjo, and I usually am not a massive fan of resonator banjos, but yours really puts out a soulful sound.

Man your camera and the lighting are awesome. May I ask what is your set up camera and microphone wise?
@tylerjgifford4 күн бұрын
Thank you, of course you may ask! The camera I am using is a Canon Rebel SL2 with an EF-SS 18-55MM 0.25m/0.8ft lens. The Microphone I'm using in this particular video is a Shure MV51. Most of the other videos I've done have been a cheap generic DSLR mic, but I wasn't all that happy with it. The lighting was just some nice sun from a sunset by my window, no overhead lights or anything. Thanks for noticing!

I have heard so many people play this stuff, and nobody gets it the way you do. I can sit back and listen to this, and it fills me with the same joy I felt as a 10 or 11 year-old boy the first time I heard it played by the Stanleys. Truly outstanding musicianship, Tyler.

DUDE, I’m impressed. A cool, clever amalgam, and so well executed! You turned the synopsis of a bad remake into something damn near indistinguishable from an Appalachian folk ballad. As a lover of the original Nosferatu, there’s no way I’m watching this turd sandwich. Don’t listen to the naysayers man, I wanna see more of this!!!!
@tylerjgifford7 күн бұрын
Lord I was scared when I first started reading your comment. 😆Thanks Cameron, I appreciate your willingness to have fun! If a movie is so bad I can't help myself I just might do it again...... next time I'll have to wear a suit and tie and put a 3hr presentation together as I did not realize I would face some expert level movie critics.
@mixmastercj1003 күн бұрын
@@tylerjgiffordMan, speaking as someone who’s going into film as a field, cinephiles and film critics can be some of the biggest snobs and buttholes out there (not all, exactly, but MANY). I love a tonne of films that critics hate and hate a tonne that they love, and despite all the hissy fits I’ve had thrown at me, they ain’t changing my opinions anytime soon. Should you decide to make more of these I am very much looking forward to more of your takes brother

I think you're spot on, and it's a strange phenomenon. If someone doesn't like something I do, it doesn't devalue it to me. I'm glad people are able to enjoy what they do. I don't understand the adhomeneims from people who liked this film when I didn't. The cinephiles and film critics can be oddly aggressive when someone disagrees with the overall reception of a film. Hopefully you can make a difference in the field!
