Jacksonville Florida still got a lot of country areas that’s why I move to south Florida u got cities like Hallandale Beach and Fort Lauderdale that’s more appealing.

Did you have any certificates (like medical billing) before getting this job? I heard you really only need a diploma, just wondering.

I lived in those same spartments in the 1980s while in the military when the area was extremely nice and quiet. I paid $350 per month in rent when the Cesery Company owned all of the apartments. When Cesery sold the apartments in the 1990s to another company they started accepting Section 8 applicants and that is when that area went down hill.

Justina was not always the hood. It was a middle class upscale area when it was built. Since certain changes to the area many of the original occupants have moved out due to crime. So don’t complain about Justina the current occupants have made it a hood.

It looks like a regular neighborhood. Sure there are challenges but stigmatization by society does not help these communities. It affects everything - people, real estate values, and etc. Sad but this one does not appear hopeless.

I was stationed in Jacksonville at NAS Cecil fld back in 87. West side in the Confederate PT apartments off Blanding Blvd. I really loved living there going to Jax beach ⛱️🏖️, up n down 1-95 hitting beaches all way down to Miami. My apts had boat slips and rented canoes, zero entry pool n clubhouse for the adult side no kids and a really nice weight room. My apt had a direct river front view with benches under the trees to sit out n watch the sails boats on Saturday mornings and hot air balloons flying over
