My uncle lived there for a long time until he and his wife died, I went there once as a kid, it was a neat experience, I never got a chance to see the actual town, just his property, which felt like was in the middle of nowhere since he had lots of acreage. He lived on Neversink Dr and the house sits empty now, it was built in 1775.

Looks pretty bleak, but then again, it was winter. Right now, it's hot and humid, and not bleak. These small towns seem to have little sense of community, which is too bad.

I would love to live there with my family, either Franklin, Ogdensburg, Sparta, Newton, or other towns at Sussex County. Franklin and / or Ogdensburg, then it would be great to be surrounded by other great places to drive around over at Sussex County. I thank you so much for doing this for us viewers. You have a new subscriber, take good care of yourself, and be safe. God Bless. I definitely enjoyed watching your captivating videos such as this one. 🙂

Some narration or text explanations would be helpful in understanding what is being seen. Looking north or east, etc., traveling down 17K or Washington Street, etc.

The drug problem used to be insane, and a creepy man in a pompadour walks around weirding everybody out. "The Owls are not what they seem." @@samanthab1923

Hey Awesome street coverage of Mid Town. '75 OCCC grad here from Walden, great times back then. Dino's Club was the place back then!!!!! Glad they preserved the old Erie/ EL station. To bad the moron NJT/ MTN planners had their heads so stuck up where the moon don't shine killed the inter city rail commuter line and stuck the current station shelters way out of Middletown / Goshen on the Graham line.

You just drove around in a big circle. Starting at round Hill elementary, taking route 208 to clove road and back on to round hill road. With a couple random side roads to turn around. When did you film this video? I know you recording did before 4 p.m. when it was uploaded. At about 3:30pm, blooming Grove Police department shut down clove road between route 208 & round Hill road. I know because I was trying to get to Sunoco at that time but had detour onto round hill Rd. Thanks for sharing. Wish there where more shots of the actual fire.
@carridesandotherrelaxingad9226 Жыл бұрын
That was as close as I could get the roads into the mountain were all blocked off by fire operations and I wished I could have pulled over somewhere and walked a bit because there were huge areas of smoke coming up in places between rocks that I could see but the cam didn't catch the helicopter activity was pretty intense as well .....it was early around 11 I went to deliver water cases to the command center that was how I started there ....I live near middletown
@carridesandotherrelaxingad9226 Жыл бұрын
Oh and while I don't know the names of those roads over there that clove road I believe was getting bad when I was over there they had multiple fire engines protecting some houses through there the fire was close .....I wanted to get out and walk around but I believe they would have frowned upon it
@bigfish8280 Жыл бұрын
Are you a local as well? I live just a few minutes away from the location of that fire. You passed right by my old house right at the corner of 208 & round hill.

@carridesandotherrelaxingad9226 Жыл бұрын
I worked in Port jervis for 20 years.... There are a lot of great people there and the city itself seems to be going through revitalization lately many new businesses are moving in and there is a pretty new active outdoor club .... they have made a bike park , pump track and a trail system..... there is also the beautiful Delaware river and its amazing ice cream shop on its banks ....with all that said however , there is still a serious drug problem and there is really no major grocery store that seems to be able to make it here .....this might not be the popular opinion and while improvements have been happening lately ..... for me it wouldn't be enough .....if it were my 5 year old I would seriously consider the warwick / florida /chester area if I was thinking of moving to orange county with a young child the YMCA in Monroe has amazing programs for kids

@@user-sg4dd6si8c the location doesn’t really matter much for the long long term. My job won’t be hurt by moving there. I’ll make the same money I do in NYC. As for long term, we’re all planning on retiring far from here and my daughter is free to choose anywhere she finds opportunities, but we always plan on being within a couple hours from major cities, so we will be within reach wherever we end up, and opportunities will arise. I just need a place that is good to raise a kid thru school age
