I haven't touched the code for this mod in quite some time now, but I may start picking it up again when i have free time to improve upon the mod! Such as less droidekas perhaps for balancing on clone wars era and lowering jedi health a little for rocket launcher class to target jedi Also, I did update the mode not too long ago where I replaced the pilot class instead of sniper as that was heavily requested. This is an optional file so if you dont want the sniper, that option is still available as well!

Hi, this is the mod creator. Thank you for making a video on the mod I made! I made this mod for the same reason you mentioned in the video, as a kid I always wanted to play the jedi. I tried a bunch of mods but was annoyed with either no lightsaber deflection or with invisible jet packs. So, I ventured off and taught myself how to mod the game through trial and error and the way I wanted. I never anticipated the mod to blow up! Was just trying to relive my childhood dream for this game and decided to share that experience with others! I have updated the mod relatively recently as I got a lot of feedback to replace other classes instead of the sniper class if anyone else interested in that. Glad to see you and other are enjoying the mod!

Back in summer of 2012 when i was 10 years old, an older cousin-bro got me a collection CD-disk with most of the LucasArts era StarWars games. The first game i was able to install was this 2004 Battlefront, and oh boy did i play this game everyday... (i was forcing myself to spend only 2 hours on pc, so i spent all that limited on this game) And whenever i play Mos Eisley or Yavin IV, the enemy heroes/villains like Vader and Dooku used to scare the tons of crap outta me... they were literally invincible and all you could do is choose heavy class and spam rockets at them, but that was hard as well cause you had hostile stormtroopers/droids targeting you on spot... Though.. i was a little sad that i couldn't be the hero myself, but sitll this game was so much and having a hero backing you up on Command Posts was a great help.. unlike regular friendly troopers... Gosh, they were awful compared to the enemy ones.. Almost a decade later in 2020/2021 i came back to this game in the summer when i found out that it appeared on Steam with Multiplayer support and when i played it nearly everyday, i enjoyed it just like back in 2012... And when i got my hands on this jedi mod, you bet i had fun being the Hero myself and carrying my regular troopers... hehe~

Don't know if anyone else noticed but when showing the mod in this video you were moving around and acting just like the bot versions of the heroes and villains, not sure if intended but made it more interesting to me. Funny how they'll swing at you once but like anything that shoots at them they'll stand there for a few seconds confused or run off scared but yeah the way you moved around and just swung once here and there reminded me of that also great video👍

Looks like fun! I have a mod that I haven't published or anything (because I don't know how), but it's essentially a replica of this with a few changes to bring it in line with the original ps2 version. The biggest change is that all 5 classes are intact. What I did was script the maps so that "native" forces with the same faction tag as yours spawn with the map-appropriate number of troops. So if bots are supposed to spawn with 3 jet troopers for example, I simply made a 3rd faction (or 4th depending on map) allied with your faction. So functionally, you are the only hero fighting alongside your default faction scripted AI. I updated the weapon UI section to have a droideka shield icon with a full heat bar, to symbolize the passive bullet deflection, added the voice-over to report that "x has joined the battle!" when the mod is active, modded HP values to avoid deaths from bespin gunners and other things, and allowed you to toggle "instant action heroes on" to spawn ONLY the opposite faction hero if you want to. My mod is split into two files, one to play as rebels/republic hero, and other for empire/cis. You toggle them as necessary. I was always obsessed as a kid with RPing as the jedis in this game so I get the appeal lol
