Weirdly enough we went to El Campello on holiday in 1969 when I was but a lad. 4 of us, 1200+ miles in a Mini Cooper S complete with tent and camping equipment. It was, basically, a fishing village then. They were still building wooden fishing boats on the beach. Why our parents chose there for a holiday is lost in the mists of time. Now, 55 years later, my wife are relocating to that area. El Campello is our new local town. Full circle.

Hi Mike, amazing how life brings this unique journeys. Your parents finding El Campello in the 60s to you now relocating yourself there all these years later. I'm not a spiritual person but I do feel sometimes plates shift in a way that's beyond our rational minds. Enjoy your life in El Campello and thanks for watching 👍👍👍

Man you have no idea how useful that video was for us, we are planning to visit with a view to buying a house there. We both work remotely. We have two young kids. How did you guys find the schools? We plan on learning Spanish (we already are) but would love the kids (7 and 9) to be in a school which is bilingual or at keast has teachers with decent English. Thanks again for the upload. Andy & Natalie.

@@andrewsheppard2404 Hi Andrew / Natalie, welcome to the channel. We brought our 10 year old (now 18) over and put her in the local Spanish primary school. Olivia's not academic so it was bloody tough. However my brother in law has brought his two twins over 11 years old and they've picked up the language within 12 months and they've settled in unbelievably well and so so fast so it's always dependent on the children's personal characteristics. Olivia now is completely fluent and all her friends are Spanish so either way they'll find their destination in their own time. I'd always recommend Spanish schools as having a Spanish network is crucial to their long term happiness so some short term pain is worth it but it's not easy for sure. Schooling is very different here. It's much more focused on child happiness Vs exam outcomes and that will be a shock to some parents who are used to UK schools churning out academic robots. It's much more family orientated but to some that could be a concern. Plenty of people doing remote working. In fact that's what my brother in law does (as does his wife). It'll take 2/3 years to adapt but the life out here is amazing and worth the adaptation period for sure. I've not been back in 8 years and it's surpassed our expectations but the change curve will throw some curve balls for sure but life is amazing here. All the best and hope the videos can help in some way or another. I'm sure our sister in law (Liz) would be happy to help with regards to school advice etc. let me know and I can put you in touch. Regards Lee & Gail

@expatlovingspain Costa Blanca, Spain’s stunning Mediterranean coastline! In today’s video, we’re going to explore the best beaches in this beautiful region. Whether you’re a sun seeker, an adventurer, or a family looking for the perfect beach escape, Costa Blanca has it all. So, let’s dive into the top beaches you absolutely have to visit!” [1st Beach: Playa de Levante, Benidorm] “Our first stop is Playa de Levante, one of the most famous beaches in Benidorm. This lively beach stretches over 2 kilometers of golden sand, making it ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts alike. You can try parasailing, jet skiing, or just kick back and enjoy the Mediterranean sun. Plus, there’s an incredible selection of restaurants and bars right on the promenade!” • Benidorm beach • Playa de Levante Benidorm • Family-friendly beach Spain • Watersports Costa Blanca “Next up is the secluded Cala del Moraig, a hidden gem located in Benitatxell. This beach is a paradise for snorkelers and adventurers. With its crystal-clear waters and dramatic cliffs, you can explore underwater caves or simply take in the breathtaking views. It’s a little harder to reach, but absolutely worth the effort for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty.” Keywords: • Cala del Moraig • Hidden beaches Costa Blanca • Snorkeling Spain • Secret beach Spain [3rd Beach: Playa de la Granadella, Jávea] “One of Costa Blanca’s most picturesque beaches is Playa de la Granadella in Jávea. Voted one of the best beaches in Spain, Granadella is the perfect spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Kayak through the serene waters, hike through the surrounding trails, or just enjoy the beautiful pebbled beach. It’s a must-see on any Costa Blanca beach tour!” Keywords: • Granadella beach Jávea • Best beaches Costa Blanca • Kayaking Spain • Nature beach Spain [4th Beach: Playa del Postiguet, Alicante] “Located in the heart of Alicante, Playa del Postiguet offers the best of both worlds-beautiful blue waters and easy access to the city’s vibrant culture. If you’re short on time, this is the perfect beach to enjoy both relaxation and a quick walk to nearby attractions like Alicante’s historic Old Town and the Castillo de Santa Bárbara.” • Playa del Postiguet Alicante • City beach Alicante • Alicante beach day • Costa Blanca city beaches [5th Beach: Playa de la Fossa, Calpe “And last, but definitely not least, is Playa de la Fossa in Calpe. This beach is famous for its stunning backdrop of the Peñón de Ifach, a massive limestone rock that dominates the coastline. It’s a fantastic spot for families and offers plenty of amenities, from playgrounds to beachfront restaurants. Make sure to take a stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the breathtaking sunset views.”

I don’t think it’s particularly aimed at holiday makers as much as immigrants (U.K. residents in Spain, Ex pats or whatever you want to call us) who want a few home comforts now and again. Personally I’d rather have a Spanish menu del día but they do a really good breakfast and a great Sunday Roast too. All if you can stand the perennial stench of fish and chips that seems even more nauseating in the heat of Southeast Spain.

Please let the flame go out on the fire pit before cooking your steak. The meat is getting shocked by the flames fella. It’s heat that cooks through the meat. The flames are just cooking the outside quickly however it’s you steak and your pit so you enjoy it the way you want! Lovely settings and lovely steaks.

@@ExpatlovingSpain It's not ours as such but our towns cooperative, the wine is really good. 7 year oaked red is our favourite plus the vermut with the added bonus of buying in any quantity you like.
