Wait does the "shaker cup" really not have a lid? The main purpose of these is to shake your grounds in order to replace wdt since studies have shown that they do a better job of distributing fines vs larger particles while also increasing extraction. That WDT tool is badass though! Love it!

After watching MUVNA Mach video, some enthusiastic friends often ask me questions: 1. About the Brew Group head temperature on the Mach machine --- The MUVNA guys are nice; pls follow MUVNA IG and feel free to ask him directly. 2. Regarding the Mach piston movement during espresso extraction --- A full extraction doesn’t always require moving the piston from the top to the bottom. For instance, with a 20g Dose and a 1:1 Ratio, the piston only needs to travel about a third of its range, so just 6-8 turns of the lever will do. 3. How quickly can I reach 9 Bar on the Mach machine? --- 1 second.

What a beatiuful machine. To be able to increase, but also reduce the pressure so minutely is impressive! Kudos!

As a visual, it looks good. However, if given a review of taste and quality, I'd be far more impressed. For now, I am just left skeptical for a lack of added-value feedback within the video.

First, I love Flair58 and have been using it for two and a half years. But with the Mach, you can adjust the pressure freely. I’m still unclear on what you and others in the comments mean-can you explain the purpose of using an electric hand drill on the Mach?

@@cafesing so you decided it was more important to show of the shiny metal on the brewing chamber than get drinkable coffee? I mean, sure, we cant taste it trough the internet and you didnt drink it, still, we know you didnt, and ostensibly this is a video about a tool to make good coffee, but who are we kidding. Welcome to Korean content farm cubicles. Also, I dont really know how you want to create great surface contact between your shiny ribbed part (note that ribbed is not flat), and a flat heating element…

@@cafesing well, sure you could use copper coils or ceramic cartridges. The reason everyone uses foil heating elements is because 1) they are cheap 2) they distribute the heat evenly over the contact area (no hot spots) which also helps 3) efficient heat transfer due to maximized surface area and 4) they need almost no space

I kinda wonder how you prevent too long of a pre infusion with these kind of machines. From the way the shots look like, it seems to have similar issues to that of weak flow, which is also causing longer pre infusions.

my tiny head couldn't understand how a flat burr hand grinder works
@cafesing

As the flat burr rotates, the upper-burr and lower-burr combine to form blades with specific grooves, which cut and crush the beans while pushing them from the center to the edge of the burr.

I don't understand this machine. That looks like a finicky mechanism to turn. Any why 18 bars? What's the point of a machine that can achieve that? It's cool looking, but it looks like it would be a headache to operate. Not to mention preheating and temperature stability.

Different design-you'll notice once you try it. Just a heads-up: the Mach's top piston isn’t designed with a one-way valve.
@onocoffee

Interesting machine, but I think it would be compelling if it were easier to manage - meaning the rear mounted crack has you cranking the machine from behind. Most people don't have or are unwilling to dedicate that much space. Might be nicer to be able to operate the crank from the front of the machine or, it it were operated from the side, to be able to reorient the bezel and gauge to be locked in from the side. But I dig it!
@cafesing

Thanks for the advice. With your left hand on the portafilter and your right on the Mach's handle, it feels like you're gripping a car's steering wheel. I think it’s designed to fit our daily routine motions.

@greysuit17 Do I need to explain the concept of sarcasm to you? 🤦‍♂️ Although the guage appears at first to be in a sensible location, according to the video, the user has to stand behind the machine to operate it! If that wasn't enough to make this seem daft, I'd question the crank in its entirety. As fluid passes, the pressure will drop, necessitating continually cranking to maintain constant pressure, easy with a lever, not so much here. As for a pre-infusion or a profile, forwards, backwards a bit, no, too much, forwards again...
