They were mega bitches. They deserve that Truman did for them.

"What happened", she lamented. America does not have or can have a monarchy or landed gentry. The foundation Constitutional principles of the US discourages the formation of a stratified social caste hierarchy. It was all intentional. The founding Fathers were ingenious in this regard. You're just another "rich bitch" honey (nothing wrong with that) but your time is finite and make room for the next batch. Everyone gets a turn. I love America.

Love the faces they pull when Ann sits down at their table. ' Why won't she take the hint and get lost ?'

As another professional homosexual I sometimes miss my "girlfriend" relationships but at the end of the day I don't need it and never did. I am grateful for what these women taught me because otherwise I wouldn't give two figs about them. I gave them solace and comfort when they needed it and I did have some fun. They helped me grow up some and for that I am forever appreciative but I can live happily without them. I couldn't live happily without men.

Very touching moment between the two. Despite the wound inflicted on their friendship, she still loved Truman.

In real life Ann Woodward was prettier than Babe or Lee who, let's face it, were not pretty women and their ugliness inside made it worse.😢😮😮

Hackman and Douglas. Tom and Gene Garrison. And Dorothy Stickney as Margaret Garrison. At the beginning of the movie, she told us everything we need to know. "You're not going to change him, Lovie, so don't try. Still, he's a remarkable man. Look at how he walks, like a brigadier general! He may not remember where he's going, but he always goes there with a firm step." He's an impossible man, but she loves him.

It's all true. Throughout history in the US, England and France all the high ranked society women were callous selfish horrible Mothers. This still exists with Hollywood society and whatever remnants remain in New York and London.

The "It" reference is more about being of the time, i.e. Crawford embodied the Jazz era flapper in the Our Dancing Daughters era. I don't think it was meant to reflect the pinnacle of physical beauty.

She can wander through this film dead eyed and haggard looking but unless you've been out there, you'll just never know. And this movie exploited the situation more than ''helped bring attention to the crisis.'' When you're homeless, there's no place to sit down. Every single square inch of the planet is spoken for. And ''public land'' is patrolled by cops who tell you to move along. I got harassed daily by cops and ''do gooders'' who think they're protecting society by shouting at someone just trying to stay alive. This movie was a self congratulatory ego trip, and pat on the back for the film industry.
