This is saddening news, because I love the band. I sent a small donation. Hopefully the cooperation with the insurance company will go smoothly. I believe you guys can recover from this.

Yes, we are insured. However, the insurance company is only paying the current value of each item. Our studio is in a large complex with multiple businesses affected by the fire. Consequently, insurance companies are resolving claims, which could take several months. We had backups. In fact, we were working on the backup hard drives the day before the fire. We planned to complete all work the following day, but we couldn't foresee the fire that destroyed our studio.

I was put onto this excellent band quite a few years ago and have one of their earlier albums which I really liked. I don't know why I haven't followed up and looked out for more over the years. One of their videos popped up on KZbin a couple of weeks ago and I loved it and have since looked out for more and bought a couple of their more recent albums. They are truly special and at the moment I can't get enough of them.

Masterpieces like this give hope to a world inundated with the refuse that flows through the airwaves in the mainstream media. It's a shame bands like this never get the funding or promotional $potlight that so-called "artists" who dominate the media today get. IO Earth are brilliant.

It depends in what venue we are playing...unfortunately we don't have any control about that. But if you contact a venue before you come, they will make sure you can be seated :)
