Good morning, Ralph. It's always a pleasure to begin my work with so beautiful pieces you perform. Just a doubt to clarify: is this work a contemporary one of the composer Adam von Illeborgh? I have one of his compositions, and that is the first one of the volume of examples from Gotthold Frotscher's "Geschichte des Orgelspiels und der Orgelkomposition".

Very nice collection. I'm uploading for next year!

Fantastic performance, Ralph. Your registrations feel so natural for this music. So much colour and musical flow on display. I may be suffering from a severe case of sample set FOMO here😅.

Really lovely and archaic versets of Nun komm tune being presented in multiple creative ways. I hope to be able to try out this landmark organ next September.

Pachelbel is simply a master of the chorale prelude. The pastoral-like ductus above the chorale and the discreet imitations of the upper voices. Quite marvellous.

It is astonishing how baroque this chorale prelude still seems, when the sonatas published in 1755 already have a completely different tonal language.
@RalphLooij2 күн бұрын
True, I'm not sure it really is CPE Bach.

It seems , you already had posted this several years ago - no? And , my vision is - a 4" solution is doubtful and too fast for Nun Komm sorrowful melody . I prefer here only one Pr 8" and slower
@RalphLooij7 күн бұрын
True. From my big sample set presentation videos from years ago I sometimes pick a piece and rework it into a single video (reason: those big videos then had an average watch time of 1 minute, so probably almost no one saw it). Besides that, thanks for sharing your opinion about how you should play this piece
@tomschmidt59574 күн бұрын
A 4' only might be unusual but it has it's attraction. Being in a church and the sound coming from high above is my idea here... Rorate coeli...
@RalphLooij4 күн бұрын
@@tomschmidt5957 It's baroque, so luckily no registration prescriptions. You can do what sounds right to you, of course within limits (rules of that time). I sometimes play it in a small plenum registration, a bit slower. Or with flutes 8'+2' a bit faster.
