Born in ordsall in 1955 , turnerson street in between new park road and guy Fawkes street Salford 5 , used to spend my life in ordsall park . School was horrible for me , I didn’t concentrate on the lessons so I fell behind . A girl called Jill helped me once and gave me magic markers , she was lovely and her friend was Christine , this was at ordsall board junior school, thanks Jill , still love you

I love these old films and photos, but they upset me deeply, reminding us all of a country we once loved and have now lost for ever...

I love current Marillion, but this takes me back 35 years to when I first discovered Marillion as a teenager with the Thieving Magpie album and I've followed them ever since. The gentleman singing sounds so much like Fish did back in the day. Thanks for posting this; loved it.
@EddieSalford Жыл бұрын
The guy singing it is Martin Jakubski, who is the singer in the Tribute band StillMarillion. They are worth checking out and even going to see, because they take you right back. I've always loved the Fish/Marillion myself, but have finally taken Hogarth for what he is, a great passionate vocalist with Marillion. So i am off to see them in November for the first time since 1986. Can't wait.

Thanks for that Roger, I'll update the info. I didn't know the exact date, but lived and grew up in the Poets streets by the side of the Dog Track and remember it closing and playing on the site before it was demolished.

Love it here, starting by the car wash at Bury new road all around and come out via the Lanny at Texaco garage, nice relaxing walk to clear my mind and chat to people with their dogs and other walkers, lost weight this way as well

Around 1959 - 61 a young girl drowned in the Irwell where the stream that flows through the sandpit into the river. Ver sad - I think she was only 8 years old.
