Thank you for the video. Will the seeds require watering while hanging in the window?

I learned a lot watching this video! Thank you. So you just leave them in the 9 ounce cup until they’re pretty big?

Yes. With the clear cups you can see the root growth. I will put them in 1 gallon pots the next year.

I am going to try this, you made it so easy. I just hope my seeds are not too dry. Mine don't look like yours. They are smaller and more dry. But they opened up on their own. Wish me luck

Any update on these seedlings? Any on them bloomed yet?
@johnherndon4804 Жыл бұрын
Not sure if those exact seeds have Bloomed but many have. I got hit hard by hurricane Ian, 20 inches of rain and many broken branches from the wind. No power or water for 9 days and much more work to do to clean up things. Several died or rotted but still have plenty to take care of.

This worked great! I got 100% of my seeds to root. One question, what is the hydrogen peroxide for? Does that prevent the seeds from rotting? If so, is it OK to water the plants with the same diluted solution Peeling off the husk was very nerve wracking so half I peeled and half I just planted with the husk. The peeled ones produced "leaves" faster, but all plants made it.
@johnherndon4804 Жыл бұрын
Glad you had great success. The solution is to help with sanitation. I never continued to use it but it shouldn't hurt. The seeds will still rot with to much water.

Hi John. Thank you for this video. Quick question... I'm in New Jersey and just received some seeds. Would now be an ok time to start them (early July)? They'd have a few months outdoors before it gets cold and they'd need to come in.

Does it matter what month you start the seeds? I live in San Diego and just ordered several types of seeds.
@johnherndon48042 жыл бұрын
They like it warm and sunny so you can start them inside in cooler climates to give them more growing time. You should have no trouble in San Diego.

So my seed pod fell off of my now dead plumeria, she died from Rod during the winter all my fault anyway the seat part is very healthy but I don’t know what to do with it. Should I put it in water and keep it there and see if she opens should I take it out of water and leave her in the air to dry should she be in the sunshine or in just natural light in the kitchen? I just don’t know what to do with her.
@johnherndon48042 жыл бұрын
Never had that happen and you will probably lose the seeds but I do know of one person that rooted his plumeria in water so maybe give that a try. Check the internet to see if there is any info.

I found a pod on my patio today that had just opened and I was able to save all the seeds. I'm going to try this. A couple of questions, how long are the seeds viable, and is it true that the plants grown from seeds may be different from the parent plant?
@johnherndon48042 жыл бұрын
Not sure how long the seeds are viable but I have planted seeds over a year old with success. Seeds may be very different from the parent plant. I have had white plant seeds flower red also multi color plant seeds flower white.

Do we plant the seeds in Spring period or it doesn't matter when we plant it
@johnherndon48042 жыл бұрын
Spring is the best time so they have longer to grow but you can start them earlier inside. I plant mine whenever the pods open but have a long growing season here in Florida

I have 2 single seed pods from a large tree I inherited not in a T shape. My questions are will the seed still produce being single pods? Do all the seeds from one pod become the same colour tree? With my pods I had to cut from the tree, as I had to remove all branches to transplant tree. They were black when taken off. Will they dry still and produce a tree? Thank you
@johnherndon48042 жыл бұрын
Single pods seeds will germinate. I had five different flowers from the same seed pod last year. Similar color but different petals. If your seed pod was cose to opening then they will probably germinate. All you can do is try.

Can you make a video on young plumerias plants, mine is 10cm tall and how to care for them to grow them into healthy plants to give flowers?
@johnherndon48043 жыл бұрын
Most importantly is do not overwater them. I leave them in the cups till spring. Then put them in 1 gallon pots. I use 666 fertilizer for the first 3 years. Then a blooming fertilizer. Very few bloom at 3 years but some will. Continue to fertilize and plant or put in larger pots as needed. I live in FL and the property is flooded at least once a year so I have to keep them in elevated pots tied to lines so they don't blow over.

I sell to local nursery's when they flower, so 3, 5, and 7 gallon mostly. Would have to ship cuttings, seedlings or seeds. You never know what a seedling will become, I have had white plants have red seedlings and multi color plants have white seedlings.
