It's literally talent to write solos like Noverber Rain, Don't Cry and Estranged. No complicated technique needed, just few notes to tocuh your heart. That's pure talent.

Slash is way overated. He was very good, but not exceptional. The measure of a grest guitar player is what other great guitarists say about him/her. Listen to what Clapton, BB King, Albert King and others saud about Steve Ray Vaughn. Then listen to SRV. Listen to Roy Buchanan. He didnt play with any tricks or frets. He just tuned the guitar and made it cry. Sorry slash lovers...He may be entertaining to you, but his playing was not unique or anything a good guitar player coukdnt easily copy. If you want to hear guitar played that few if any vould copy listen to Paco DeLuca.
