In Indonesia politeness is very important and fully integrated in their culture which is a very good thing. Quite the opposite in Western countries where people treat eachother as dirt bags. Indonesian people are not perfect and some of them can be very rude at times but in general they are 100x better than the average Western person when it comes to politeness. And I speak from experience. It is quite shocking to see how Western people behave. And if you live with them it sucks even more. Westerners can learn a lot from the Indonesians. And I fully understand the strict rules on the island Bali that tourists have to comply to the Indonesian rules. If not then they should be kicked out. Indonesia doesn't need rude, aggressive or arrogant people.

I've lived in Indonesia and worked with Indonesians and I can't deny that the Indonesians are generally an exceptionally polite and friendly people. Your post, on the other hand, is not a very good illustration of that politeness or friendliness.

@@chocolatecookie8571 I only said that your post was impolite and said nothing about you as a person (I don't know you). In contrast, you accused not only me but my entire society of being impolite. It's clear whose post is impolite here: and it's yours, not mine.

There are no gender disparities in Bahasa : but what I notice is that there is a wide choice of pronouns depending on the class of both speaker and addressee. You must use Bapak not kamu when talking to an old person. The verbs also change not after the person but the class of familiarity or distance : there are persons with whom you must say belajar or ajar.

Thank you very much for your clear explanations 😀 Instead of "Jangan buang sampah sembarangan" I would have expected "Jangan membuang sampah dengan sembarangan" 🤔 because sampah is the object and sembarangan is the adverb.
