A lot of negative comments from you professionals. A properly made stinger on the end of a power stretcher's head does just as good as using the poles. As far as the stinger damaging the carpets backing,... Ive never had a call back resulting in the use of my stinger. If a hole through carpet damages it to the point that its visible, its because the carpet & its backing is shitty.

My high end store I contracted With had me go inspect a job.Owner thought he had mice in the warehouse.After seeing the holes in the carpet AND pad I knew it was this horrible tool.We fired the crew when they used it again after a warning. The first rule of carpet laying is DON'T DESTROY THE CARPET WHILE INSTALLING IT.

Johnny Johnson And hardwood floors underneath, if they have them. Just horrible.
@dbeaulieu97307 жыл бұрын
This is a horrible machine. If you have hardwood under the carpet, you can kiss it goodbye. As far as the carpet goes, it gets totally destroyed. The hole it leaves behind everytime you move the stretcher never closes up shortens the life of the carpet. The concept is good, but the practical is a disaster.

Before using this tool, be certain that the customer doesn't have hardwood floor beneath that they may want to refinish in the future. The spike will ruin a wood floor. This is only effective on wood subfloors, not concrete...
@thereeldeal8214 жыл бұрын
If they covering it up they dont want to redo the hardwood lol, this is a horrible video

Quick way to ruin someones carpet they paid a lot of money for. 10 years experience and I would not recommend this ever. You will ruin the carpet backing, rip the carpet and will not sufficiently stretch the carpet.
@jmccormick14907 жыл бұрын
Use that stinger in the wrong person's home you will be paying for the whole job to be installed by a professional. those stingers destroy the backing of the carpet. I wouldn't recommend using them. just take a few more minutes to do the job right, but that's just my opinion.
@chrisdiel7066 жыл бұрын
Martain J Hi Martain, not just destroy the carpet but also any wood flooring underneath. If the homeowner ever goes back to original hardwood floors (if they have them) they are going to be disappointed in the gouges in their wood. So possibly not only buying the job but also new hardwood as well. You can change your statement from "just my opinion" to "this is a fact!" I just inspected someone's wood flooring for a refinish job and everything I said above happened in this case. Peace Chris STL

Stingers are for apts
@nickangelo1164 жыл бұрын
That's not true. What do you think the teeth of a kicker or a power stretcher does? It pokes MULTIPLE holes into the carpet when it is installed. Also, if someone is getting carpet and they are worried about refinishing the floors in the future, they should be more worried about pad staples in the floor and nails from the tack strip. The tail/spike/nail, whatever you want to call it, doesn't do anything you aren't doing already. If you want to refinish your floor, you wouldn't have gotten carpet installed. Period. If you want the floor kept nice underneath, I'll staple the strip instead of using nails and I'll duct tape the pad for you instead of using staples, but I will not guarantee my work to hold up.
@troyjohnson6147 жыл бұрын
surprisingly a lot of negative comments. The guy in the video made it look hard and was awkward in it's use, but this works great on wood base floors, obviously the pick won't stick on concrete. instead of hassling with a big awkward pole, this concept conveniently pushes on the pick, the carpet simply slides up the pick as you stretch it. Try it, you don't know what your missing.

a carpet will get bubbles when the installer did not get a good initial stretch, then when the carpet expands, it has no where to go (being that it's against the walls) so it pushes a bubble into the room... so what in the hell is the point of stretching the carpet, if you don't cut the extra carpet before jamming it all back down? lol and what in the hell is the carpet crab? lmao you should get your money back for that tool, and the customer should get their money back for that "re-stretch"
