I bought this and love it but fun fact I could not get it to work with wide mouth 8oz jars....and these are the only wide mouth jars I have so not sure that the wide mouth function works but works flawlessly with regular lid 8oz and 16oz jars.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know if I had any issues with that size. But it's a handy tool for sure!

Um, the jar lifter you're using is upside down. The curved end goes around the necks of the jars for lifting.
@southernskytngarden2 ай бұрын
Oh gosh ok! Thanks for letting me know. I have to pay more attention. When I put them in, I used the lifter correctly then when I took them out, I had it backwards lol 😂Thanks also for helping and watching

Oh thank you for that encouragement! And thanks for watching. I also want to pressure can someday but I haven't made the investment in buying one yet.

That’s a great idea to shove the fabric down along the side in between the bed and fence. Both you and Cash are doing a great job! And expansion --exciting!!!!

I am in your boat, afraid and have all the equipment. What would you use those tomatoes for? Thanks for the video. FYi, you used the handle of the lifter to take the jar out, the rolling thick portion is your hand grip and the other side nestles the jars. I took a class and anytime you take out of boiling water it continues to cook and same with Pressure Canning. Your fine.
@southernskytngarden3 ай бұрын
I'll probably end up using them for salsa and then also we make a lot of zucchini noodles and pasta so I'll grind them up and use them as pasta sauce also. Thank you so much for watching! Canning is not as intimidating as you think. I was glad I'm finally doing it because I have so many tomatoes to preserve.
@wendya12503 ай бұрын
Congratulations on your first time canning. I think you will find it easier to get the jars out if you turn your lifter around though. Canning is so fun isn't it :)
