I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show when it was broadcast on Australian TV.

Now some 25 years ago since Bill passed! Yet, it is a true legacy that many of us still refer to him and remember the series! Growing up as a kid watching it during the 70s you never thought it would be such an important part of your life but it has been, The many repeats keep it alive, and you still laugh as exactly the same points you did back then, few comedies have ever connected in that way!

Interesting that without a script so many brilliant actors are lost for words in these situations.

I still cry laughing watching Compo trying to get it on with Nora Batty and her fighting him off with her broom. Off screen Bill Owen and Kathy Staff were good friends. Last of the Summer Wine can be enjoyed on the Drama channel on Freeview at 6.40pm here in the UK.

What a lovely tribute from Dilys Laye. Cruising is my favourite Carry on Film but I never realised Flo was supposed to have been played by Joan Sims. Next time I watch the film I shall be sure to have "two Flo dears" in tribute to both these great ladies.

The biggest joke is why the hell anyone found the garbage funny. I viewed a few times to see if I was missing something, but it was the same rubbish recycled time after time. If you found this dirge funny you'd laugh at a creaky door.

Quite a few legends of the screen there, none more so than Norman. Bill is sadly so correct, time gently sneaks past so quickly when you're not looking.

Nice group of stars. Bill Own played a great role in the film 'The Girl Who Couldn't Quiet' 1950, he plays a tramp who is the only person that brings life into a despondant girl. Stephen Lewis was great as Blakey.

I used to hate this show with a passion. I was born in the 80s which meant whenever you heard the theme tune on a Sunday night, you knew the weekend was nearly over and you had to go back to school the next day. Now I'm older, I love watching it. It is repeated all the time on Gold but I don't mind as I never saw a lot of the earlier episodes and it has given me a chance to watch them all.
