I am not sure how I stumble watching this. But I remember this movie back in the mid 80's and I taught this was a shitty movie. Now almost past 30 plus years later I have to admit DAMN THIS IS A CLASSIC MOVIE. 😎

Via said in an interview they filmed this all and then the director didn't like something in the final stages and they had to rebuild the whole set and bring everyone back to re-film certain parts. One thing Via never seems to talk about is what was he using to get his sound. Looks like a Carvin amp but he had effects going on and I want to know what they were.

For the majority of the battle, Jack and Eugene are neck and neck, roughly keeping within the bounds of blues, with Jack showing signs of impatience as Eugene doesn't seem to be phased or intimidated. Finally, being tired of waiting, Jack decides to end the battle quickly by breaking the rules and playing only metal and no blues at all. Eugene responds in kind with classical music, the progenitor to practically all genres, playing a solo so intricate and fast that even Jack couldn't match it. Jack walks away to lose his soul while Eugene ends the scene by putting blues back in its place on the big stage. *Probably not the first to make this analysis for this scene, but whatever*
