A song of my youth. A great song. A great band💥. Brian Johnson is AC/DC.

Mr Pitney had talent oozing out of every oriface, would have been great to see him do a set with Dusty Springfield. What a show that would've been 😀.

Gene was great!!!!! His pop hits were well crafted , well produced and he posessed a powerful voice.....so unique! He also rode the wave of the British Invasion and very popular in Italy ....this added to Gene Pitneys global appeal!!!! This is one guy that left us too soon....he's loved and missed by millions of fans!

One of the most sadly romantic songs has ever been written (my viewpoint). With Pen In Hand. The original is always the best. Simply beautiful.

One of the best “divorce songs” ever written by the happily married Bobby Goldsboro. Vikki Carr did an outstanding version of this masterpiece.

I think its his voice in combination with this typical CCR-Rythm. Maybe ccr was role model for this kind of music

@dajana8543 You are right. I remember an AC/DC special in a music magazine from the early 80s, were Angus, Malcolm and Brian cited Chuck Berry, Yardbirds, CCR and Led Zeppelin as the main influences on AC/DC. In my ears the CCR influence is more present than the others in their music.

How is this phenomenal singer / songwriter not in the Country Hall of Fame?
@f.danielporter259210 ай бұрын
Back in 1969, this wasn’t considered country & western music. It was pop. Unlike today where C&W is in very large part rock and role of the 60’s and 70’s. Mac Davis isn’t in the hall either.

This Newcastle band had reunited and were rehearsing new songs when Bon Scott died Feb. 19, 1980, and Brian Johnson was offered a seat in AC/DC, thus destroying two great bands. Well, AC/DC were already finished when Scott died, aged 33, but Geordie never happened again. I hated 'Back in Black'...
