J.W. was a genius in casting L.H. as Travis. That emotional sideways glance at Bowie, when he changes his mind and stays, is alone worth his entire fee. A salute to Wayne's direction of that scene, too. One of the most memorable in any film.

I'm a piper. The first tune is "The 42nd Highlanders", then "The Bonnie Lass of Fyvvie", "Scots Wha' Hae," then a mystery (don't know that one!), last "The Rowan Tree." Applause. New medley: a mystery tune again! -- then a slow march I am familiar with but can't remember the name of! The sound is getting so muddy and poor I can't make much out clearly anyway -- next, an unknown strathspey -- another slow march that is familiar, but can't recall, maybe "Dream Angus" -- unknown reel -- getting very difficult to make out much at this point. Ends with a march or two I can't ID. Fades out. Fades back in! Then is over, more applause. Next set -- ha, sounds like a strange pipe band arrangement of" The Yellow Rose of Texas!" Applause. And that's a wrap! Best I could do, sorry this isn't more comprehensive.

Now the truth. We killed off over seven thousand US Marines on Iwo Jima because our leadership did not want to gas an isolated military garrison on that remote island. Fire bombing and nuking civilian population centers is ok but, we don't want to use gas on a remote military island garrison. Think.

Life is short - make the most of friends and (especially) family for while you think they will be here forever, they won't. After all, no one ever thought that just 18 after the Beatles had their first hit that John would be so cruelly taken from us

Man! Your comment is so heartbreaking, and so true, that it hurts! Yea..life is short! John deserved to live longer! It’s a tragedy that is felt JUST as deeply today, as it was on December 8, 1980! The freak that took his life should have gotten the death penalty!! Unfortunately, we don’t have that option in NYS! I always wished they’d let him go. Some of us Lennon fans would like to say Hello to him! 😉 Stay Safe!

Yes, Santa Anna WAS truly a butcher. Murdered 4000 Zacatecans who rose up against his Centralist regime. Then he set his attention on Texas. Thank goodness he was stopped. Pitiful and shameful that Mexican citizens were stupid enough to re-elect him again and again until ultimately, he lost them half their territory.
