I already use ToonSquid as part of my work Flow among other software, but with this update it May become my main software if not the only one! Exciting!

This is such a solid and comprehensive tutorial, thank you!! I just found out about it and I just needed someone to go over it. You definitely sold me on it, it has all the features that I've been missing from the ones I use on PC.

I brought procreate dreams when it first launched. I was hyped at first and tried learning it, even following lot of tutorials and getting some courses. Soon realized that it doesn’t have many essential pro features and even something as basic as a lasso tool. Was kinda really bummed. Now I have officially shifted to other professional softwares (on pc unfortunately) and don’t even use procreate dreams. It’s basically a loss for me at this point. Funny thing, I use procreate for frame by frame animation and story boarding than the “official” animation app. Kinda sad and I really hope they improve procreation dreams.

He didn't mention that if you get a paper like product or any screen protector that has a texture on it it will wear down the plastic tips that come with the Apple Pencil and then you will be using the metal ball that's inside of the tip I tried using the rubber tips And they didn't make any difference at all at least for me on my iPad I also had an old protector that I used some fine sandpaper and lately sanded the filament or paper like to give it a little bit of texture this worked but it wears out the tip of your pencil when you start drying on it it also may affect your lines a little bit in the end it wasn't really worth it unfortunately you just have to learn to get used to drawing with less tooth or resistance then you would drawing with paper and pencil but if you're not used to using the iPad and drawing on the screen at all I would definitely get a paper like imitation with a texture on it slowly get you used to drawing on the iPad

I am totally fine with holding off on a release. It means they are prioritizing getting it right rather than rushing something out the door for the sake of meeting an arbitrary date that they set. They are still one of the rare companies doing things right for a change. It's refreshing.

I dont have an ipad yet but they still dont add lasso tool after 12 months whats wrong with them

But when, WHEN will they ever add a smart fill/select tool to Procreate...?! And flexibility in clipping layers and groups... these are standard features at this point that the other big art programs have.

I tried out Procreate, and these do adress some of the issues i've had with it. (never used dream). But Procreate is just so annoying to use. There are literal features that are hidden to the user that are so hard to find unless you YT them or google them. And my main issue with procreate is the fact that brush size is a percentage rather then pixel size. I had to switch to Artstudio because it's a more familiar work flow and if i forget something i rarely use i have tabs to help find them rather then having to open a whole new application just to look for stuff. I think they really need to work on the basic concept of their UI and how it functions more rather then simply updating the newer things in the first place. Neet updates though.

I have both dreams and toonsquid and i use toonsquid more cuz its easier and have the essential features like lasso😭

I use procreate pocket will that be a issue next year?

Toonsquid 2.0 is also on the way and it will have rigging with inverse kinematic and custom mesh deformation. If you’re interested

They are working on too much things instead of just the most important things like Lasso tool for Dreams. They should only release that ONE most important then everybody would be patient.

If they bring the dynamic brush scale from procreate dreams to procreate, it's gonna be bad...

thanks so much for this super-useful tutorial, it is just what I have been looking for. Could I suggest that next time perhaps set a fixed focus distance on your camera as mostly the focus fixes on your pencil or your hand and the ipad screen is very blurred.

DO NOT buy from Amazon because the chipset they use will cause damage to your iPad. I also purchased form amazon only because of the price but it started causing too many problems to my iPad then I got the original from Keypad Pro and haven't had any issues.
