There's still one pre-Worboy road sign in the centre of Stamford.

Just started at Stamford Tech in Sept 1970. Lived with parents in St Georges Square. Passed my driving test in Stamford same year. Most youths hung around Red Lion Square where the road was black from burnt rubber of Mini wheels skidding as owners let the clutch in sharply!

Ah yes I remember it well, I would have been 13 then and as everybody else says, apart from a few changes to shops, streets and traffic it's mostly the same now.

Looks pretty similar to now really, just the cars and some shops, awesome to see Stamford back then

Amazing. I was born in 1987 so it's similar but quite different now - you recognise the streets (HSBC/Midland Bank, Walkers, NatWest) but there are noticable changes, I wonder when the High St was pedestrianised?
@Marks_Trains2 жыл бұрын
I can't give an exact date for pedestrianisation, but I do remember it. I would guess it was very soon after this film was made: I would have said mid-sixties if it had not been for the shooting date of the film!

Great days indeed Mike. Here's your bike in the Falcon catalogue www.bloggingadeadhorse.com/images/bmx/hotfoot/falcon/fp_pg3.jpg I got my BMX for Christmas 1982 and it was my pride and joy, I literally lived on the thing. I have totally rebuilt / refurbished it twice over the years. It was used by two of my friends children in the intervening years and now my 12 year old son uses it and loves it as much as I did. It is stickered-up as a Haro now (I couldn't find any Falcon decals). The frame, forks, headset and crank are still the originals. My son loves it when boys "our age" comment on his cool 80's BMX. This is how it looks now: drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hZTmjez2Z4SU9TQmMyc3FKYjQ/view?usp=sharing

I had a Theta to, I had lay back seat post and swapped the pedals for bear traps. I wish I had kept it.

Apart from the cars, driving through the high street and the parking on broad street, not a great deal has changed.
