The youngins will never understand the importance of these two establishments!! 😭 I guess the memories of TJ’s and Sidelines will have to live with the memories of ‘Humboldt State’, before it became Cal Poly Humboldt 🤮 But I guess the good news is that pre-Cal Poly people will all be able to share these memories together.

The free stuff and the leaving of stuff/trash is for Phippsburg residents. It’s a transfer station for residents and requires a transfer station permit (:

Merry Christmas. Bath looks so pretty with a Christmas snow. Of course that could be my nostalgia talking. For years in the 70's and 80's my family would spend Christmas in Bath visiting family. I wish I was there today.

I can contribute a little to the story. At around 3:40 you assume there is a greenhouse on the upper floor. That was my room for a few months... I was there a few times as a teenager. The place was owned by my uncle and my grandparents also lived there. I live in Europe myself, so I've rarely been there. It must have been 1988 or 1989 when I was there for almost 3 months. As my hobby back then was astronomy, my uncle built a glass roof on a balcony and that became my room. So I could see the stars from my bed at night. I loved the place, but it was far away for me. Life and time moved on and at some point Bishop Pine Lodge was just a beloved memory. Seeing it in this state hurts.

I worked at that store in 1984. The donuts in the bakery were the best ever. Hopefully, they're still as good these days. I lived in Hyde Park right behind the store.

I lived there in the early 70's. I had a paper route which took me past that cannery 5 days a week. I still recall some of the workers, standing out there by the street, smoking unfiltered cigarettes. The sounds of machinery and boilers. That industry was probably already past its heyday by then, the buildings looked old and in disrepair even then. Your video brings back a lot of memories for me.
