Do you wet the fibre cloth before the dipping process? Your slip is quite runny. Thank you so much for sharing your process!

Excited to try this again. However, when I did it before, all the color in the "cracks" also wiped away???

Beautiful! Can you talk about the slip, glaze, and firing process? Is it a colored slip or engobe? If so what stain product did you use? Did you then cover with a clear glaze? What did you fire at and is it dishwasher safe? Thanks!!
@pottyjoydavis8146 Жыл бұрын
i dont own a dishwasher so not sure if dishwashr safe sorry. i used a decorating slip coalt blue. the clay is a white stoneware. plates bisque fired to 1000 degrees, then transparent stoneware glaze and glaze firing to 1240.

A member of my facebook group asked what to use for this technique and "people" started saying to buy super-expensive carving tools. I love the way you explained this technique (I've never tried it) and the really clean result you got! Thank you! Question, is the trick the angle you hold the tool at as you draw?
@pottyjoydavis8146 Жыл бұрын
the trick is to make sure whatever tool your using removes your wax layer. x

Whenever I try this, the paint never fully adheres to the pottery, and all my transfers look spotty and splotchy. I've tried doing it exactly like this and several other videos and tutorials and I keep getting the same issue. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi love your videos and friendly approach to tutorials :) When making things like these do they need to be hollowed out for the kiln or are they an ok size to go in as is? many thanks!
@pottyjoydavis81463 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. As they are chess pieces they are not very big so do not need to be hollow, just slowly dried before the kiln.
