I did the swap with a stock 140, it has a lot more power than before but, when I quickly rev the throttle from idle, it dies. I put a 140 main jet in. Do you have any suggestions?

HEY VIEWERS! Sorry it is taking some time to get part 2. I ran into issues with compression and overheating. Waiting on parts so sit tight, part 2 is coming.

What puller did you buy for the flywheel

Thank you, I am doing the same kit on a stock KLX 140L, watching you video helped me, I had the jet needle installed incorrectly. I had the ering above the spring plate rather than below. The engine kept dying after 1/4 throttle.

Absolutely, I have seen some post stating to put it on top. This is totally wrong and seems vindictive.

Thanks for filming... have the parts on my bench, will be tackling this project soon. 👍

Just did the same swap today. I’m having an issue with the fuel line being pinched by the tank due to the new routing. How did you solve that issue?
@ChrisWareWare-jq1xv26 күн бұрын
I used a longer line and looped around. Did not get to test much but once I get a gasket I can put the bike back together and test.

Okay cool. I saw a few other videos and will give that a shot tomorrow. Shouldn’t be too bad. Otherwise mine ran quite well and really woke up the 140. Excited to ride it.

Aw man that sucks, that the head is stripped I have a FMF slip on. Would you recommend I do a 150 jet too? I got the kit ordered but I’m confused on what jets I should use, and id love to get a big bore kit video!
@ChrisWareWare-jq1xvАй бұрын
Yeap it sucks. Threads got into the cylinder so had to tear down either way. I would start with the 140 and see what the plug looks like, 150 was really black. Black too rich, you want chocolate brown. I am in process of the big bore install. Had to order custom flywheel puller.
@quinn3722Ай бұрын
@@ChrisWareWare-jq1xv ahhh i see, did you have to mess with the pilot jet at all or just the main and depending on my spark plug is how I should determine my jet so let’s say my spark plug is is black would I go up in jets or down but let’s say if my spark plug was lighter than brown would I go up or would I go down? And I’ve seen some other videos where people run the stock main jet that comes to the carb and they say it runs great but I honestly have no clue carbs confuse me. 😅
@ChrisWareWare-jq1xvАй бұрын
@@quinn3722 Yes dark means rich so go smaller. Carb comes with 190 which is pretty large. Running rich is not a bad thing other than carbon build up. But, lean is bad for the motor. Everyone states stock pilot is fine.

@@ChrisWareWare-jq1xv okay i see, ive seen people go with 180 and say it runs good

I run these saws all the time but I run one step hotter spark ngk plug and it helps with slow response and starting

On some of the 4200 handles will not let you remove carb so I just hack saw a tad of handle back and it will slip out, don’t hurt a thing 😊

very informative video. Lots of repair videos on your channel, Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines and maybe we would work together to help more people in the community.

They are really good saws if taken care of, most people don’t take care of them and use cheap oil, I usually fill it with B12 to unstick the ring 😊
