That E30 does not have 500whp. A 500whp E30 that weights around 2,700 pounds, would smoke any mustang with 550whp easily. Ps: i owned 2 turbo E30's and i am telling based on my experience.

the reason why they were really called the 500 is that NASCAR told ford before you can use that holman and moody 429 motor you have to put it in ford cars and sell 500 to the general public it must be a stock production motor to be used for racing, hence the mustang gt500 was born it originally had a single 850 cfm carb, but ford put dual quads or 6 pacs on them. at daytona they were hitting 2oomph and averaging 180 for 142 laps
