👍 Dommage que vous n'ayez pas indiqué la vitesse moyenne ainsi que les pointes ...😢

what is the fastest speed achieved? normal cruising speed??

Wow! What are those things called on the front? That keep the water piercing bows out of the water? Some type of forward elevator/canard.

sensors, they are connected to the foils and regulate the ride height

Interesting boat design, impressive performance, beautiful photography and inexplicably irritating use of 'music' to destroy what would be a very cool video. At least we have the mute button.

I'm curious how close to the true wind direction it can beat.
@newageofsail3877 Жыл бұрын
It can't. Kites are basically reachers; maybe a close reach with a skilled crew and a really flat-cut kite. But it can't go upwind in any meaningful way.

I would love to see more information on how the kite is first launched and landed etc.

WOW one week would mean they sailed a little over 300 miles per day..THAT'S AWESOME..A 36 foot Catalina usually will take 18-19 days (average 120 miles a day)..

They sailed from LA to Hawaii ,their passage time was more than a week to destination.

Can you upwind any angle?
@linolinco2 жыл бұрын
sure, why not? If even I (your average kitesurfer) can go upwind on a primitive 5-foot plank with tiny little fins, a hydrofoiler will have no trouble at all hauling close to the wind, tacking, and running circles around a conventional foiler with the same sail area.

I found this video 4 years ago (according to my previous comment) and here we are, a total of 7 years later, and I still love it. But where has the concept gone? It seems that a bit bigger but lighter boat $$$$$😖 with computer control of ride height $$$$$$😖 and foil design that prevents a much bigger kite $$$$$😖from yanking it out of the water, would make possible absolutely stoopid speed! C’MON FAT WALLETS, BUILD IT !!!👊😎

Soon they will be no more sails, Instead, kite sailing will be more efficient faster, and less heeling. The German Skysail already have it fully automatic controlled by a computer on cargo ships since 2009. It's so expensive though.

Seems to be a copycat from the Hobie trifoiler from the early eighties? Though had the trifoiler paralell twin sails which probably is easier to handle.
