If you watched the video I didn’t compare mayweather’s career to Canelo’s. I said mayweather’s formula treating boxing as a business in the ladder part of his career is what canelo is doing now . I also said we wanted to see mayweather fight Pacquaio which he did even if it was 5 years too late . We want to see canelo fight Benavidez . If benavidez goes on to become a massive star that will stain Canelo’s legacy

Im Mexican, from LA to top it off. And i agree with floyd cherry picking at the end if his career, however he fought more HOF/ elite fighters to get to that position. But canelo’s career didn’t take off (casual recognition) until he LOST his biggest fight if his career. While Floyd beat his way to do that “earned the right to choose” sht. Canelo has not had a bigger challenge fighter since floyd and earned his undisputed by beating a easy competition at 168. Conveniently, went to 168 after benavidez lost his belt to ❄️. Im not saying that was planned by canelo, or that benavidez would have beat canelo but the fighters at 168 then were not as good as fighter who held belts at 168. Also, notice how canelo went 154, 160, 154,160,168,160,175,168 (undisputed run),175 and now back to 168. Floyd’s run was constant f around and find out 📈 gradually going up and not moving around from weight class to weight class to get easier competition. Uh, obviously you don’t know shit about boxing but Marquez KOd Pacquiao at 147, Guerrero had the belt when Floyd came back, and Berto was a world champ with a good resume and that was his last fight as a 40 year old man. At 33 Floyd fought killers only. Canelo, fights smaller guys and lousy fighters while Floyd fought champs and guys who weighed more than him.

I asked WHAT Has David accomplished that is bigger than the accomplished fighters that Canelo has already fought, to where his entire legacy would be null and void if he did not fight David? And my other question wasn't answered. We continue to use the "he's been mandatory for x amount of years!" excuse, only for him to move up weeks before the fight was ordered, and then decided to not come back down when offered to by the WBC. Why is this not being mentioned, and how is this Canelo's fault? You claim it's time to "pass the torch" but when it was David's turn to GRAB it by either staying at 68, or moving back down, he chose to do neither. Why are we not holding him accountable, and why is he still begging for a fight against someone who's not even in his weight class? Is removing himself from the chess board not a bad look on David's part? Are we expecting Canelo to play Mr. Nice A-Side for every opponent he faces?

David took his ownself out of the running by requesting to go to 75 himself weeks before the order was scheduled via his sanctioning body, and decided to not come back down when given the opportunity.
