I enjoyed visiting there on my solo trip, so took the family in Feb. I would have like to enjoy Kawagoe more, but the wind made that impossible.

@@dalediscovers We've got a free day at the start of our upcoming November trip (before the Disney insanity begins). Currently weighing up a few options for a day trip including Kawagoe, Shibamata and Mt Mitake, but I think Kawagoe may win the family vote.

What's you're recommendations for dining when staying at the Prince hotels at shiga? Buffet dinner worth it? Thanks
@dalediscovers Жыл бұрын
Its $50-60 AUD, so we would only eat there once in our trip. We find it a bit expensive for our family of 4. There are other food options in Ichinose and the Prince runs a free shuttle. It all depends on your food level requirements. There is a noodle, junk food, taco, hot pot and a few other places to eat.
@xK1LO5x Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. Are the free shuttles frequent?
@dalediscovers Жыл бұрын
@k1lo5 they run every hour from 5pm then a gap for dinner, then more for returns.

Nikko is a beautiful town with so much history. The walking trail beyond the first set of shrines is absolutely amazing and has so many hidden gems. I loved the contrasting photos from 77 years ago.

Question if I may, did you bring your luggage with you on the entire trip or ship it to hotels? I've heard it can be hard travelling on trains with large luggage
@dalediscovers2 жыл бұрын
We use taqbin - yamato black cat, a great service that is everywhere, we send ski bags from and to the airport, and send our luggage onto other hotels, with some short stops in between just using a small backpack. Its not very expensive and so worth it to not have to hassle with bags. They have a website you can check out. Can send bags from hotel, or even convenience stores.

@@xK1LO5x on our own, its very easy. Book flights, figure out where you want to go, research loads, work out travel times between destinations, re-think destinations, work out which JR pass works best. Book accommodation (I just use booking com) and have fun.
