Absolutely gorgeous. Poetry in motion. Beautiful blend of the delicate guitar & the punchy calls of the pink footed geese. Love the stills of the formations of the gaggle. Reminded me of runes scattered, displaying a meaning. What are our friends trying to tell us, I wonder? Sarah XXX

Fabulous margi Sinclair one of the finest interpreters of Scots ballads and songs written and traditional .this song is a fine example of Ian Sinclairs strong song writing sung by many fine artists across the world not forgetting his fiddle music accompanied by multi talented Ray Crompton .at various times Mirk line up based in Caithness comprised Jim Sutherland Brian Miller and Gavin Livinstone ...there may have been others but a great band popular at festivals

Have never forgotten her many performances at The Mersey Tavern Stockport in the early seventies. In my opinion one of the greatest British folk singers of all time. Tragic that there is only one album. Wish someone would gather the live tracks together that are out there and release a second album. Her legacy deserves at least that. Always remembered....God rest her soul

There are other tracks but there is a copyright problem as they were recorded by a Dutch Radio Company.

I wrote this song after listening to a Robin singing by my window as I played my guitar. It became a part of my contribution to COASTAL CURRENTS ARTS FESTIVAL in SUSSEX UK. It is now a part of my 'WHEN BIRDS SING' PERFORMANCE and PRESENTATION.See my website for dates...

Actually, Mim's memory is a little faulty here. Half the tracks were recorded at Freerange Studios in Covent Garden with engineer Ron Eve. 8 tracks allowed more instrumental layering.

Thanks David. Mim was actually talking abut the acoustic tracks she recorded at Curly's studio in Highbury London. Yours and Julia's arrangements are great...many thanks.

Nice video, Saffron. I remember the night at the Blossoms and can identify the 'unknown musicians' in the photos as Steve Woolley (on guitar at the front), Paul Minshull (on guitar at the back, Dave on harmonica (can't recall his last name but he was a champion harmonica player and a lovely chap, who tragically died very suddenly several years ago. Just out of shot, there was John Constantine and Joe Beard.
