So lovely. How ling does the opera rose stay looking so vibrant on the page? I see it isn't a very permanent colour. Does it fade quickly? And what does that look like in the picture?
@RuthWilshawКүн бұрын
This is in a sketchbook so I expect no fading over time. There are more permanent pink pigments, but none that are quite as striking as this one!

@RuthWilshaw ah true, as it will be closed to light. Didn't think of that.

This was such a helpful tutorial! I'm a beginner with gouache and i just followed along. There are some very helpfull tips regarding brushwork and thickness of paint in there. Mine turned out great and I am super super proud <3 I used Arrtx Jelly Gouache (Himi Clone) and I mixed my own lighter blue and lighter magenta like colors. worked great! The hint with the semi-translucent yellow was very helpful too. My darkest blue was kinda transparent so I mixed it with another blue to get an opaque color. Thanks for the tutorial Ruth! <3

“The ugly stage” that made me laugh because acrylic painting can be that way as well. Maybe all mediums can have a ugly stage? This page of plants is beautiful. I’ve been looking for the get gouache and I’ve found a couple lessons but is there more? New subby here btw and I’ve been watching a couple of your videos at a time and IG really enjoyed them. Hoping for more. 😊

It's also important to note that poster color is not meant to be super lightfast, since it's mostly used for stuff that is scanned in anyways

Nice work! Great tutorial! Started following your videos. Trying to get back into Watercolor myself but looking into Gouache. Winsor & Newton makes great paint, I am also trying out Caran D'Ache Geneve for an easy carry water activated dry pan option. Hope to share my work someday on DVIDS under NAWDC and under Timothy Klanderud.

This video is awesome! I‘m currently painting a wall mural, inspired by your forest scene and so far I‘m very happy with how it‘s building itself up. Soon I will be sleeping in my little forest library. 🥰 I‘m learning so much about light and shadow. Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany! 🙏🏼✨
