Sorry for the late reply... I sure did, this was the pic of them. There's plenty of small fish on offer, I had the most success on small occy type lures with squid strips attached. I'm sure they'll take metal slugs or plastics if you pull up and cast at them.

@claudiodippolito5686Ай бұрын
Outstanding thank you. Just wondering why you need to gaff the school sharks compared to netting the gummy’s ?
@rawlosfishingАй бұрын
The Schoolies teeth dictate as to how they are dealt with boat side. They are extremely dangerous and could inflict a nasty wound if bitten by one. The decision to gaff is purely to protect those on board and minimise the opportunity for the fish to bite through the leader and find freedom.

Persistence always pays off out there, my father and I drifted between black nose point and the pivot for 5 hours for virtually nothing and then all of a sudden whiting after whiting with plenty of flathead as well. Maybe a tide change or wind change stirred them up, but who knows. Great video, l enjoy watching Portland as l haven’t fished there for years.

Ended up going fishing up near the wall on Friday and I had some good luck got a few nice yellas and then this morning I hooked an absolute monster and it instantly bent out the little assist hooks on my tt switchprawn, still spewing I lost the fish but I don’t think I even had a chance, my bad luck streak had ran out in the end but there’s always just a big fish that gets away I guess 😂

Hey mate, I’ve been camped at glendinning since Tuesday morning and only caught a few Redfin, any tips on what speed to troll, what depth, etc? Because I’ve almost lost all hope, I’ve been trolling a couple size 3 stump jumpers at around 4m and 4kph and as I said have caught barely anything and need a few tips on what to do
@rawlosfishingАй бұрын
Hi mate, the bite has been in the mornings for me and all over by lunch time. I've tried to match the hatch and use small redfin / perch or minnow coloured lures. Don't be scared to go as slow as you can and get as close to the bank as possible. The Berkley Twitcher and Rapala Shad Rap lures have been really successful in my trips, for some reason they're taking the smaller lures. I'm hoping to be up there Saturday if you're still there, come say g'day. Orange DMax.

At the moment I go as shallow as I can, I have to downgrade the lure size though to adjust. Reason for the shallows is the warmth, today was two to four metres.

Thank you, we had an amazing trip. I travelled with my own reels, they're Shimano Stradic 6000's which were loaded with 30lb braid. The rods were various Daiwa and Shimano sticks provided by the trip organiser. Don't be scared to fish light, if you start losing too much line the skipper will assist and chase the fish. The locals use reels as small as 2500, 3000.

Hi. a comment from Sweden....I don't know if that river has connection to the sea, but that fish is far more a big Seatrout than a Brown Trout. To many small spots to be a Brown I think. In Sweden we have them both, often in the same rivers. Our Brown is brown with red spots and the Seatrout is just silver when it cames from the sea to spawn. Fantastic fish anyway. :-)
