Haha, I don’t think the bullet was the issue. Shooting Federal Premium Terminal Velocity rounds. His first shot was a bit far back and hit the liver. After that he was just trying to get shots on it to put it down, Thankfully the last shot was a clean finisher.

Nice work guys! We got skunked this year on our opening day hunt. We saw nearly 600 elk, and a handful of deer. We watched 2 guys pick up a matching elk set though our spotter but we ended up empty handed. Still was a great time in the outdoors! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Man, sorry you didn't find any. We had similar trouble with elk sheds. I glassed the one and Brett happened upon the nice 6 pointer, but other than that nothing. Still lots of elk in the area. We saw around 300, but the seemed to be cows and really young bulls. I'm wondering if the mature bulls broke off from the herd and many of them shed somewhere else? You are right, time out in creation is what it's about. The sheds are just a bonus. Keep at it!

What tent setup is that?

It’s a yurt style canvas tent from Amazon. I can’t remember the brand, but we have used it the past two years over a 4 hunting seasons and it’s been great. The circular shape doesn’t allow for tons of room, but it’s solid and well constructed and ideal for 2 people. We paid less than $400 for it, which is why we went with this over some of the larger wall tents.
