I love that fish page too! I've never thought about using alcohol markers with gauche or acrylics over them. I wonder if poscas would work well over alcohol markers too! Now I have an art lab test to do! Thanks for the inspiration. Beautiful work! 🎨🌈

You definitely did a better job than I could do! I think the right side looks great, but to be honest, I think the left side with the large white reflections, doesn't quit look realistic. I kept thinking you were going to do more to that side, like you did on the right, to make it look more real. I was amazed watching you bring the right side "to life" so to speak. I think when you master making the large reflections look more real, your hyperrealism art is going to be amazing! Like I said, it is way better than anything I could produce. You have a lot of talent as an artist. I just noticed that this video was from two years ago. I just found your channel today, and I watched several of your videos when I saw this one listed in your comments and thought I would like to see it. It would be very interesting to see you attempt to do this hyperrealistic foil heart balloon again today; I know it would be even better!

So many beautiful pages! And I never thought to make up bugs. What a very creative idea to do - design and draw your own insects! I am drawing in a Strathmore too but its the 400 series. Mainly using ink + colored pencils. But my Strathmore does not lie flat. Which certainly is annoying. But the paper size is big like yours. I have 160 pages..and already done 33. Does yours lie flat? Or no? How about a forest year? Or maybe a herbivore/carnivore one? I go see horses on the ranch weekly so I see lots of herbivores. Or if you want a harder challenge than do space / aliens? And how do people turn their artwork into stickers? I am totally clueless! 😂

Ateleir Interactive Acrylic is amazing. it can be reactivated on the pallete and the canvas. It’s the perfect combination between all mediums.

This test set Liquitex Basic up to fail. Golden PR108 is a real cadmium, opaque paint. It's literally made to cover up anything below it. The Liquitex paint is a semi-opaque hue. There was no way it was going to cover up solid black marks without a ton of layers because it's see through. Golden also makes semi-opaque colors and if you had used one of those, it would have taken 6 or more layers to cover up the black markers. Golden has way more pigment than Liquitex Basic but Liquitex Basic is still a decent brand and it's used by a lot of professional artists who want minimal texture. An artist can take craft paint and make an amazing painting. No one has to wait until they can afford an expensive paint to create art. And no one is going to be doing all of that to cover up a black marker. If it's that serious, cover it with white gesso and go on with the painting. These tests are useless, meant to impress people on KZbin who have never been to art school. Professionally trained artists will use whatever they can afford and not think twice about it. Material will never make the artist.
