There is a severe lack of chase scene advice from authors on KZbin, so this was very helpful, and the graph too. Thankyou. Would you consider doing as more in-depth video? How do we write briefly, keeping our descriptions snappy, purveying the speed of the chase, whilst still being as descriptive as possible?

I need to know what happens during the chase. This sounds like what happens after the chase is over.

start with an outline! And build from there! The fun part is that you can always expand

This was a really cool idea - I never thought of using a journal as an outlining technique. I think it might be especially fun and helpful for young writers who don't have a lot of life experience to put into their characterizations and need prompting to think more deeply about how their character (not just themselves) would react to situations. A great contribution to the reviews of this journal. I found this while considering buying the journal and I really enjoyed your review.

One technique I find interesting is the idea of having characters switch between playing static and dynamic roles (for example, in a long fantasy series in which every book focuses on a different character, some characters may remain static for a while, then turn wildly dynamic once they've become a central protagonist!)

Very excited about working through this video for insights on chase scenes. Please consider removing or at least drastically lowering the music volume in your future videos. I will definitely try to power through this one , but I wanted to let you know that the music situation is harming my ability to process what you're saying more efficiently.

Thanks for your feedback. I realized after I posted it that this video was a bit louder than what I typically do. In part, it's because I made it last-minute as I was on a retreat all weekend. So, I didn't have much time to double check everything. But thanks!

I like the idea of the world building chart for basics. I would put more importance on other elements than you do. I agree that the name is important, but mostly when you're ready to publish. You don't have to start at the top and work your way down. World building is an iteration to me, not a linear process. I would also like to point out that those boxes are too small to fit the world I already build. As a matter of fact, I think that if the elements do fit, that the world isn't nuanced enough. This is a great starting point though. :)
@nathanielmunoz67405 жыл бұрын
Actually, that's one of the main reasons I write world-part as an option. Often times, I end up going through so many of these worksheets for one world. And, it's not a cookie-cutter mold, so I always leave some sections blank and use the additional notes section for others. It's not for every world, but it helps to organize the information that you do have.
