A slower tempo would have worked better. The reverb of the building is causing it to blur at times.

Frankly it disgusts me to see people in comment sections of videos of contemporary pieces saying things like “not very nice is it?” Or “what horrid noise” and the like. They don’t seem to understand how difficult these pieces are and how hard the performers (and in this case arranger) work to give these wonderful pieces to us in such amazing quality. People really need to appreciate hard, honest work. PS, if you don’t like it just don’t watch it, no one wants to hear your negative comments.

After M. Dupre, Jean G. is without a doubt at this time, the greatest organist in the world. There's is no educated opinion that can doubt it. However, there is this beautiful organist called Cameron Carpenter who not only has perfect pitch and perfect memory and pedal technique the likes of which the whole of the Julliard School of Music has never seen... is now... alive on earth. He's about 34. He's inventing new kinds of electro-anolog voices with extended pedal notes... new speakers locations and entire orchestras... at his finger tips. Watch out. !! This young Master lacks nothing... with the possible exception of Romance/Love in his heart. He's so fascinated with his own tremendous abilities, I don't know wethers or not he's had time to explore the 'human' experience. I pray for him... that he may not loose touch with the human condition. CVD

And some without it - Schumann for example - were great musicians. The only purpose it's served me is to tell that a piano I had to play was almost a semitone down in pitch, which upset me. Without perfect pitch that would most probably not have mattered. It disturbed me that Richter (on youtube) played the Schubert G flat impromptu in G major. Not always an advantage! Relative pitch is essential.

Ges-Dur ist nicht gleich G-Dur (einen Halbton tiefer)! Nach dem 'wohltemperierten Klavier' klingt es immer noch nach 'Ges-Dur', auch wenn der Kammerton für die Klavierstimmung um einen Halbton tiefer liegt mAn.

Dear poll6666, what is a partition? Some of you, obviously, don't realize what Jean is actually doing here. It has little or nothing to do with melody or rhythm. It has to do with textures (sound texture) and color. And how these sounds move throughout the building. Gentle or ruff, velvet or sandpaper, purple or green, fire or water, the streets of Paris or the depths of outer space, etc. It's a little like looking at a Pisco painting. You see a human face, but why is it red? Why does it have two eyes on one side of the face? Why is the mouth wide open, the lips green and for gods sake why are there all those pointy teeth? Then it hits you, it's a picture of one of his wives or lovers yelling at him. Its not their human form, but rather their souls he's interested in. Then you hear it yelling, "Pisco! What the f___ are you doing now. You call that painting?" It's not the human form he's trying to paint. It's the real essence behind the human form, the soul of the being, if you will. Pisco said, "It took me 40 years to learn how to paint like a child." Indeed, if you think you might be able to capture the sound of a waterfall by running your elbows up and down the keys, try it. Did it work? What does outer space sound like? What does hate sound like? What does Joy sound like? Jean is opening a door for all of us, much like Pisco did. So walk right in. Sit yourself down and see what you can do to sustain a feeling or create an entire universe… with just sound. Do you know what or who Hyperion is? Sent with love. CVD
