Love your loose and flowing style. I'm curious about your pencil though, it seems almost unsharpened, and yet also like the whole point could be graphite, i'm not sure - could you tell me what it is?

Happy to hear you enjoyed the drawing. At the beginning I'm using a Pitt Graphite Pure 2900 hb Faber Castell. I tend to use it to make border marks so that I don't get cought up with details. You know how it is, different tools make different marks and feel different in the creative process. Wishing you loads of fun ✏️✏️✏️

I was just curious why do you use the rubber band on the pegs when you are not flipping? ..Just wondering, I only use the rubber band trick when I am flipping a full amount of pages.. Thanks
@Curioandco
@Curioandco 18 күн бұрын
Partly it's force of habit, but it also keeps the stack together when I take the disk to the couch or other locations. Also when I erase it helps prevent the pages from ripping at the peg holes. It seems that every-time I don't use the rubber band I rip the holes. Maybe it's just Murphy at work, but really every time. It's amazing. ✏️😊

😊 it's just a matter of practice. Draw as much as you can from what's around you and things that interest you. The shape will then start going into your visual vocabulary and you'll be able to mix and match different parts to create something new. The more you create the better you'll get. Just keep that pencil moving and you'll be surprised of what will come. 😊✏️✏️✏️

Hi there! I have no idea how i got here, but i guess Im the lucky one :D I recently started painting with watercolors (just couple paintings done), but going deeper into it i see a need to start to sketch to be able to do watercolors correctly and after long research i think i will just go digital because i can literally do anything with just 0$ spends on pencils, brushes and so on. What do you think?
@Curioandco
@Curioandco 5 ай бұрын
Happy to see you on the Curio chanel! About your question, I would do some reading about color theory first. Learn about subtractive vs additive colors. Digital and analog are opposites. Then choose in which medium you want to produce your content. The end goal should dictate the medium you use. Digital is quite forgiving and you can learn a lot and fast, but transitioning to analog will require patience, the tools and medium is different, but you can produce original artwork. If you are already familiar with Digital, then digital will get you started faster. The most important thing is understanding the color theory once you know that, then it's just matter of putting in the time having fun playing with color. Hope this helps. 😉

@@Curioandco Thank you for fast and honest response! I already started reading about perspective and color is my next goal, at this moment I cant do anything practical yet so I hope this will keep me busy for some time. In next week I should be able to start drawing again and the longer I think the odds for me to go digital are higher :D I will still paint watercolors in free time tho, its so much fun! 🥰

What paper brand and or type of paper are you drawing on..?
@Curioandco
@Curioandco 7 ай бұрын
Animation Paper 12F (60 gram) is the short answer. This paper is a semi-transparent velum used for traditional 2D animation. I found that animation paper varies depending on the retailer. There are different grades, paper weights and transparencies, depending on the retailer and on where you are based. Usually the retailer will give its name to the paper. There’s no real Animation Paper manufacturer that I know. I’m based in Europe, I got mine from www.animationsupplies.eu/ and it’s Anim Paper Pro 12F 330X267mm (60 gram).But, I’ve also got the paper from www.chromacolour.co.uk/ in the UK and from and www.lightfootltd.com/ in the US. I usually place a large order so that I have a stock and save on shipping cost. Paper is heavy to ship and costly. Just make sure to get the vellum animation paper (transparent), and not the regular bond paper that is punched. Animation paper is paper that is punched for flipping while animating. The grade and size of the paper is what varies. A few FYIs - The paper comes in single sheets not in a block. Also, just like any other paper it needs to be matched with the pencil that works best for you. You will need to experiment. For me an HB graphite works great on it. As well as a Red pencil - Stabilo Original 87/305 (I like them better than the usual Prismacolor Col-Erase Pencils) For my needs I find animation paper is my go to paper. I absolutely love to draw on it. Happy Drawing!

That's really great to hear and thanks for sharing this connection you found with these videos. I was hopeful that other draftsmen would use them this way. The goal is for them to inspire and cheer you on while drawing. I find the sound of the pencil on paper is of great comfort, an invitation to draw, and to continue drawing. When I'm editing I hear the pencil and I want to be on the drawing table. It's like call. It sound like you really connected with drawing and it’s one of your passions, keep at it. Like all things it comes with ups and downs, but drawing it's a great craft to know, the better you get the more you can do with it. It can be applied to different softwares and visual mediums (sculpting, film, interactive design,...). Many students come out of college knowing the tools, the different software, the different pencils, the general idea of production processes, but they lack the skill in the craft. Pick-up that pencil and keep having fun while putting down those lines and you'll never have to work a day in your life. PS I find Akihito Yoshitomi’s (@akihitoyoshitomi3758) videos inspiring you might enjoy them as well.
