I can almost imagine the real Anne Frank thinking the lyrics, blue was her favorite color. It's like she's singing about longing to be free and live a normal life, seeing her friends again, seeing the blue sky and feeling fresh air. "shine sun, burn my eyes, been so long they want to cry" makes me think of once they were arrested and she was outside for the first time in years, but not free, longing and hoping for freedom to live.

Ironically , I am a terrible speller. Clearly that didn't stop me from wanting to write.I have never seen a Broadway musical in the theater.
