How does this compare with Superiror & addictive? I find it very raw & unprocessed (a good thing maybe). But does the plugin have good processing capabilities?
@RabihRihana6 күн бұрын
I haven't tried processing any raw kits yet but those kits are "rich" and thick to be begin with. I'm guessing it's the console they used. I would feel much more confident proccess a raw toontrack kit. Not to mention the much more intuitive GUI and mixer in toontrack products.

Be curious if you've picked up Soniccouture's Tonal Drums and what you think of it. Having three of their other products I was hoping for a serious discount. 😜 And the last thing I need is redundancy - but I definitely like James' products.

I haven't no. But that might change any minute lol. Yes I love his products. Great attention to details and the cymbals in his drum libraries always sound incredible.

Incredible technique. I use a free plug-in called NoteMapper that allows me to configure my keyboard controller so that multiple keys can play the same Sun Drums (or any library) instrument. I can also trigger multiple samples from a single key using NoteMapper such as adding a bit of low velocity rim to one of the snares to add a smidge of variety. Having four adjacent keys playing snare or toms or any instrument makes it very easy to create rolls for someone with my limited chops.
@RabihRihana9 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot. Guess what,. That's what I use too and it's in full use here! Incredible plugin. Life saver for me for many kontakt drum libraries.

@RabihRihana Ha! Sorry if I missed you talking about it. I did kind of skip around your video. Another favorite accessory plug is ReMIDI which was just updated. I'm also a big fan of Keith McMillan and have two of his K-Board 4 Pros but I have yet to take advantage of the extra CC control with a drum library. Needless to say, I struggle with drums more than any aspect of solo composing but dang, it's fun!

Gorgeous ! May I ask if the keyboard is connected to speakers and if so, what model of your speakers are? Because I have the Roland RD88 and as soon as I connect it with my BOSE SP1 speaker I am quite bothered by the aggressive sound and not rounded enough for me. I find your sound very good, I would like to try to improve that. Thank you for your help.
@RabihRihana9 күн бұрын
Thank you! I use both speakers and headphones, depends on my mood to what to play on. I have a pair of HS80M studio monitors and I have 3 headphones. I suggest you get some quality monitors like Yamaha HS5 and position close to your playing position, not very far from you. That should help. The sound you're hearing in the video has nothing to do with speakers or headphones I'm using though. I recorded the audio from the RD into my digital audio workstation (Studio One).

I am deciding between the Roland E50 and Yamaha DGX 670, please would you tell me which have the better speakers? I want a sound that I can feel inside my body as well as hear, also will zenos which Roland have catch oin - Yamaha does not have this.

Not familiar with Roland VST products. Does the Roland Earth piano require a Roland cloud subscription? Not sure how the purchase works....are you buying a lifetime key or you need a subscription to Roland Cloud to use it?
@RabihRihana12 күн бұрын
You can buy it with a lifetime license. You need to download Roland cloud app and it will show up there. It's still on intro price till the end of November for $49.99. After that it will be $250.

I bought the CFX two days ago when there was a 50% discount, and I have to say that applying your settings, the sound is truly fantastic. I have some questions to ask you. 1) What buffer size do you recommend using with the CFX to achieve good latency while still maintaining excellent audio quality? 2) My keyboard doesn’t allow me to adjust the Velocity Curve internally, so I have to do it through the software, and I’ve noticed that it struggles to reach the fortissimo range. How can I adjust the curve to achieve a linear response that reaches fortissimo?
@RabihRihana13 күн бұрын
1) Buffer size i play mostly on 128. You should be more than fine with that. You can play at 112 or lower but i think it becomes unrealistic, contrary to everyone may tell you. A real acoustic has latency too :) 2) You need to create a bump on top. Looks almost like a slop. Just double click or click on the line area and create the bump. Glad i helped with your CFX!

Great video. This really sounds shockingly great. I pretty much had given up on C7 sample sets, but your work here has had me reconsidering that. There’s usually this tinny and sharp attack I would hear on C7 samples. This sounds much more resonant and more dimensional.

@RabihRihana14 күн бұрын
Thank you. Yes the audio was transposed in real time inside the Roland as I'm playing. I'm trying to break in the keybed and play on the same keys as much as I can, hoping for the noises on certain keys to disappear with time, since my rd is still brand new.

@Nico-rw2tl16 күн бұрын
For my part, I have almost all the VSL pianos, ivory 2 and 3, CFX garritan, UVI, etc... Personally, I'm fed up with sampled pianos, no matter the quality of their samples, this make-up falls off quickly because it remains flat and it doesn't react at all like Pianoteq or Earth Piano. I think the super deal at the moment is the Earth Piano at $49 and I'm going to go buy it right away.
@RabihRihana16 күн бұрын
VI labs stuff bridges the gap nicely in my opinion between the playability of modeling (without being modeled) and brilliant sampling. Yes that Earth is a very reasonable deal for the moment at that price.

This is a wonderful comparison, both for the playing and the side by side (as the music is playing, I can jump back and forth between the tracks and instantly AB the sounds). I can concur with what a lot of people are saying. I love the darkness you can achieve with Noire, but Claire does have a rich warmth in the mid tones which is attractive. I don't know how motivated I am to drop additional dollars on Claire though as much as I like the sound. I think if I did not have the piano sitting in the middle of mixes with other instruments and I needed a naked solo piano, Claire would certainly be a welcome addition. I just don't see a need right now with what Noire offers. Sorry NI, you made Noire so good that people might only buy Claire if they don't already have Noire :) I must just add that the compositions and playing are beautiful, I keep this playing in the background while I work
